Smash hit Netflix film Bank of Dave is returning to screens.
The first Netflix movie was released earlier this year, sharing the real-life story of David Fishwick and how the working class man from Burnley became a self-made millionaire by setting up his own bank.
Leeds played a huge part in the original movie and it is hoped that key scenes from the pub (which was actually our very own Duck and Drake on Kirkgate) will see the star-studded lineup return to our city for the sequel.
The real life Bank of Dave shared the news on Twitter this morning: “Very Exciting News today at Netflix! “Dave Fishwick’s Story Continues!” as Bank of Dave The Sequel is Announced Myself & David H and the team at the Bank of Dave are so excited about working with Netflix again on #BankofDave2“

There has been no further news on filming locations or release dates – but we’ve all got our fingers crossed that the Bank of Dave will return to Leeds.
Based on the true-life experiences of Dave Fishwick, Bank of Dave tells the story of how a working class man from Burnley became a self-made millionaire and fought to set up a community bank, so that he could help the local businesses of his beloved town survive in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis.
Back in 2011, Dave set up his own bank in his home town of Burnley, Lancashire to help inject much-needed life into local businesses and to prove that banks can be socially responsible by donating any profits to charity. The story warmed the hearts of Netflix viewers when it is released as a full-length movie at the start of the year and featured plenty of recognisable faces.
Starring BAFTA-nominated actor Rory Kinnear as the title character, in his bid to help his beloved community of Burnley, Dave has to take on the elitist financial institutions of London and fight to receive the first new banking license to be issued in over 100 years.
The film was predominantly shot in Burnley but additional filming took place in Leeds, with scenes of Dave coming up with the idea for the bank and organising his first loans shot at the Duck & Drake. The pub was closed for five days in March 2022 to allow for filming to take place.
British actors Rory Kinnear, known best for his role as M in James Bond and Game of Throne’s Joel Fry were both spotting filming the new movie inside Central Square of Wellington Street back in March 2022.
Mirroring Canary Wharf, the office building was transformed into the Financial Regulatory Board to film scenes for Netflix movie Bank of Dave.
