There’s a group of pubs in Leeds selling the ‘ultimate’ chip butty and it looks absolutely incredible.

Loaded with fistfuls of french fry-style chips and stuffed into a whole, hollowed-out loaf, we think we’ve found the ultimate contender for your Friday night tea this week.

If all that doesn’t sound tempting enough, this ultimate chip butty also comes with added melted cheese a boat of gravy on the side so that you can sauce your butty up to your own exacting specifications.

Available at Greene King pubs throughout Leeds now, we’d say it is a must-try if you love a proper chip butty (and let’s be honest, this being Yorkshire – is there anyone who doesn’t?).

Even better, his top-tier menu item also comes with a nice cold pint on the side – which we have to say ranks way over a cup of tea when it comes to chip pairings in our view.

The Greene King pub website lists the dish as one of its highlights, describing it as “a whole bread loaf, hollowed and filled with chips, cheese and lashings of gravy. Served with two jugs of gravy for dipping”.

With five different Greene King pubs in Leeds to choose from, you’re pretty spoilt really as to where to go.

In Leeds alone, there’s Greene King’s traditional, friendly pub inside the Templar hotel, the ‘flaming’ Bridgewater Arms on Cardigan Fields road to check out, plus the Malt Shovel on Crab Lane, the Dragon on Whitehall road and the Griffin on Board lane.

If you can’t decide, though, this quick pub finder guide will quickly show you the closest pub to you. to help make things super easy
