Just forty minutes drive from Leeds is the world’s highest indoor bungee jump – and according to reviews, it’s an adrenaline-packed experience you won’t forget.

If you’re stuck with what to do with the kids now that the heatwave has ended (for now., anyway) and the heavens have opened then we reckon this indoor bungee jump could be just the ticket.

Set in an old steelworks with a 150ft plunge, it’s certainly not for the faint of heart – prefaced with a climb up to the platform that you commence in semi-darkness amidst flashing light effects.

As you make your way through up to the tunnel, dry ice is pumped out at you out from the darkness and flashing screens appear at intervals to hype you up for what is to come, with a musical soundtrack to set the atmosphere.

And that’s not all. As well as an epic bungee jumping experience, the Abyss at Magna also utilise the breathtaking structures of the former steelworks to host zip wire, abseil, and ‘drop free-fall’ experiences – where you literally step off a platform and experience falling almost completely unaided.

A real-life leap of faith, whilst you are fully kitted out in a safety harness and attached to a thin safety chord you will still plummet to the ground at speed, slowing only at the last second to touch your feet onto the ground.

Run by the UK Bungee Club, the Abyss at Magna first opened in 2005 and has been used for a number of film and TV filming projects since.

TIckets for experiences start at just £20 for the drop free fall, rising to £69 for what they call the ‘awesome foursome experience’ which combines all four activities so you can try a bit of everything whilst you’re down at the site in Rotherham.
