Tramlines is returning to Hillsborough Park in Sheffield for another year.
Tramlines is truly showing Yorkshire that festival season is back for good this summer.
Sam Fender, Kasabian and Madness are all set to headline the weekend festival, with additional acts due to be announced in the coming weeks.
Between Friday 22 July and Sunday 24 July 2022, Tramline-goers will have the opportunity to watch some of the UK’s best musical talent, as well as rising up-and-coming acts before they hit the mainstream.
The latest line-up announcement included the likes of Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Alfie Templeman, Kelis and Scouting for Girls will be joining the already jam-packed lineup.
James, Declan McKenna, The Vaccines, Sigrid, Self Esteem, Inhaler, The Wombats, Becky Hill, Reverend and the Makers and The Coral are just some of the big names taking to the stage, with smaller acts like Swim School, Coach Party, April and The Goa Express entertaining daytime crowds.
On Friday 22 July, the headliner at Tramlines festival is going to be the UK’s most-loved Geordie, Sam Fender. The Seventeen Going Under singer-songwriter is currently on a UK tour to celebrate his latest album release and will be making an appearance in Sheffield to perform all of his best-selling singles, including Hypersonic Missiles, Will We Talk? and we’re sure that his latest single, Spit Of You will find a way onto the main stage too.
Sit Down indie-pop band and Madchester legends, James, will also be performing in the evening. Having sold over 25 million albums worldwide since their formation in the 1980s, the band will perform after 23-year-old Declan McKenna takes to the stage.
The full line-up for Friday includes: Sam Fender, James, Declan McKenna, Shed Seven, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Jade Bird, Lady Leshurr, Orla Gartland, Working Men’s Club, Baby Queen, Brooke Combe, The Clockworks, Coach Party, Kynsy, Lime Garden, August Charles and Harri Larkin.
By Saturday, Sheffield will have well and truly settled into the festival: we’re picturing dancing in the sunshine, drink in one hand and the other in the air as Kasabian headline the event. The English rock band have had us losing our voices at festivals since their formation in the late 90s and we’re sure Tramlines will be no different. Expect bangers like Fire, You’re In Love With A Psycho, Shoot The Runner and other classic indie-rock tunes that span through the decades all evening long.
The Vaccines, who have made many a festival performance over the past five years, will be warming up the crowd with summertime favourites, If You Wanna, Wetsuit, Post Break-Up Sex and All My Friends Are Falling In Love and more. Norwegian singer Sigrid will also be bringing electro-pop to the main stage with a colourful performance of her album, Sucker Punch.
The full line-up for Saturday includes: Kasabian, The Vaccines, Sigrid, Little Man Tate, Self Esteem, Inhaler, Sam Ryder, Alfie Templeman, Lottery Winners, Kawala, Just Mustard, Crawlers, Bleach Lab, Swim School, Sheafs, Pixey and Every Pregnant Brothers.
We all know how Sundays look at a festival: you’re either still hyped up from the night before or lethargically fighting to postpone the looming post-festival hangover, but it’s nothing a bacon barm and a Berocca can’t sort out. The tunes on Sunday are just as lively, so make sure you save your energy for 70s icons from the ska band, Madness. Expect old school tunes like Our House, It Must Be Love and an unmissable performance of Baggy Trousers in performance that will be perfect for all ages.
Preceding Madness will be The Wombats, who will be offering ample opportunity to dance to Joy Division during an excitable set of hits spanning from Greek Tragedy to 1996. Also performing as one of the final day headliners is Becky Hill. The former The Voice contestant will be taking time out from her residency at Ibiza Rocks to perform at Tramlines, we’re expecting to hear Only Honest on the Weekend from start to finish, as well as soulful performances of pop hits.
The full Sunday line-up includes: Madness, The Wombats, Becky Hill, Reverend & The Makers, Kelis, The Coral, Sports Team, Scouting for Girls, Yard Act, Elvana, Do Nothing, The Goa Express, April, Bedroom High Club and Luxury Goods.
