Gold Sounds is the one-day festival held at the Brudenell Social Club each year that’s attracting crowds of locals wanting to spot the next big thing.
Previous names that the festival have gone on to become household names include Phoebe Bridgers, as well as Wunderhorse, Dune Rats, The Big Moon, Snail Mail, Bodega and Just Mustard.
And this year is set to be no exception.
Saturday 27 April will bring together crowds aplenty in honour of the afternoon of dancing, head-banging and all-round feel-good tunes from artists like Bedroom High Club, Trout, Hooton Tennis Club and more.
Booker Joe Hubbard from Futuresound Group has been responsible for organising this year’s artists to attend the 400-capacity venue- and with such a clear keen eye for detail, we’ve asked Joe to choose five artists he’s excited to see at Gold Sounds this year….
“This is definitely a name to look out for. They recently played Brudenell with Lime Garden and blew everyone away. Sha is my pick of their songs to listen to.”
“I first heard these supporting Gold Sounds alumni Wunderhorse, and I think they could easily follow in Jacob Slater & Co.’s footsteps. Check out their new EP Dirty White Lies.
“Sarah released a top EP Death By Laundry which I feel we can all relate too. Would certainly recommend a listen, really great tunes from her.”
“Recently picked as a Spotify Radar Artist all seems to be heading in the right direction for SOMOH. She releases her fab 90s inspired bedroom pop through Tiny Library Records, ran by multiple Gold Sounds stage-gracer Far Caspian.”
“For those into their high energy/punk tinged stuff. They’ve only released one tune, BIRDSONG, but it certainly packs a punch.”
