New restaurant ‘inspired by the vibrant streets of India’ announces opening date in Leeds

Indian restaurant tamatanga, known for its hearty, home-style Indian food, has announced the opening of its fourth restaurant is only just a few weeks away.

Opening on Friday 16 June from 5pm, the restaurant is the fourth of its kind in the UK to open.

Founded in Nottingham in 2008, tamatanga is a casual, laid back Indian eatery serving up delicious home-style food.

Following the roaring success of their Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester restaurants, they will be moving from the Midlands and bringing their spice up North to Leeds.

The brightly coloured, fun restaurant will be located at The Light on The Headrow and is set to open early summer 2023.

Guests can expect a vibrant interior with eye-catching prints adorning the walls, all of which has been inspired by the colourful streets of India.

The food menu consists of a mix of classic Indian dishes as well as others which you may not expect. Everything at tamatanga is made using real, homely Indian recipes served up with speed and minimal fuss.

Their signature dish is the large variety platter which features your choice of one or two curries from the extensive menu whilst the rest of the dishes are created and changed daily by an expert all Indian kitchen team using local, seasonal ingredients.

The menu includes a huge variety of meat, veggie, vegan and gluten-free dishes so that everyone in your party can leave with a happy belly.

And it doesn’t stop there, tamatanga also offer an incredible cocktail menu full of carefully curated tipples to go alongside your tasty dishes.

Ranging from the fruity and fabulous Peachy Blinder to the adventurous Wray’s Sorbet which blends tequila, strawberry cream soda and Wray and Nephew overproof rum.

And a trip to tamatanga doesn’t have to break the bank, the restaurant offers a fun, laid back atmosphere with daytime deals on food and two-for-one cocktails offers everyday from 12-7pm.
