A Leeds cheese shop has launched a limited-edition cheese advent calendar

Yes we know it’s only September, but we can’t resist chatting about a cheese advent calendar.

Forget your stupid little chocolate advent calendars, because this cheesy new release from George & Joseph is the ultimate fromage-lovers countdown to Christmas.

Specially curated by leading cheesemonger Stephen Fleming, who has just celebrated an incredible 12 years of George & Joseph being at the heart of Chapel Allerton, the calendar includes 24 of the finest artisan British cheeses for you to devour day by day.

For a respectable price of £120, the lucky recipients will receive two beautifully packed chilled deliveries, each containing 12 individually hand wrapped cheeses approximately 75g each.

Not only that, every portion is accompanied by tasting notes and pairing suggestions so you can make each bite perfect.

George & Joseph owner, Stephen Fleming, says: “Fromage fans are going to have to be quick. When we say limited, we mean limited and we’re only producing 40 of these Cheese Advent Calendars.

“The full cheese line-up is deliberately under-wraps to create an element of surprise and intrigue throughout the month but what I will say is that you can definitely count on Pitchfork Cheddar, Baron Bigod, and Dorstone landing on your doorstep.”

Within each delivery, expect a real mix of styles for every tastebud.

All British, all artisan, but all offering something a little bit different and special. Expect soft, blue, goat, crumbly, nutty cheeses plus a few seasonal specials and rare finds reserved just for Christmas.

The two deliveries will arrive with free delivery on Thursday 28 November and Thursday 12 December to ensure maximum freshness.
