Monday 17 October 2022 marks the start of a fruity, boozy, all-round exciting week to those that enjoy a tipple or two- with or without alcohol.
It’s Eat Leeds Cocktail and Mocktail Week.
The idea is that a number of venues in and around Leeds will be putting on some of the best cocktail and mocktail deals around. With the cost of living soaring, this is the perfect excuse to taste test some of Leeds’ finest at a lower cost and find your new sweet, tangy or fruity favourite.
Keep reading to find out all the different offers to take advantage of from Monday 17 October – Sunday 23 October 2022:
Supplying what is essentially a half price cocktail and mocktail steal, Restaurant Bar and Grill has the perfect backdrop for a post-work drink to take advantage of every day (apart from Saturday) between 5pm and 7pm. Arc Inspirations’ bars will also be taking part in Leeds Cocktail and Mocktail Week. Box Leeds and Headingley will be fuelling sports fans and bandeoke singers with a range of delectable treats, whilst Manahatta provides 2 for 1 at Greek Street, Merrion Street and Headingley.
Those venturing from the suburbs needn’t travel all the way into the city centre either, Banyan’s deal means that those in Leeds, Horsforth and Roundhay can all take advantage of the exciting week-long offer.
The 2 for £12 used to be a citywide offer, but it appears that plenty of bars and restaurants have thrown this out in recent months- but that doesn’t mean you can’t find some exciting drinks at just £6 each. SALT Leeds City will be serving their signature ‘on-tap’ cocktails all day, everyday at the bargain price, whilst indie music venue and bar, The Wardrobe will be bringing the 2 for £12 deal in for cocktails that can be perfectly paired with small plates, sharers and even their set menus- including their drool-worthy pizzas.
Aagrah Leeds and Chapel Allerton will also honour the 2 for £12 offer between 5pm and 8pm, combining fruity flavours with delicious award-winning curries that have been serving Leeds for a landmark 40 years.
Five restaurants and bars across Leeds are ensuring that you can grab a drink for a fiver every working day of the week. Head to The Alchemist Greek Street or Trinity for a taste of an incredible colour-changing drink, and whilst you’re on Greek Street, there’s ample opportunity to test out Lost & Found Greek Street’s £5 cocktail- the Last Amethyst.
If you’re looking for a spot for the socials Fleur is known as Leeds’ ‘most Instagrammable’ restaurant for good reason. Sip on a range of £5 cocktails and mocktails between 3pm and 5pm and sit amongst thousands of individually cut paper butterflies for a true Instagrammer’s dream. Over in Trinity, Angelica will be serving an alternative to the usual Pornstar Martini, complete with homemade pineapple foam and Havana-infused saffron.
East 59th offers the perfect spot to end the week. Grab a chair and sip on a Mai Thai overlooking the Leeds skyline or head next door to Issho for a tangy, but irresistible, Kyoto Sour.
Whilst these offers are enough to tempt us into drinking our way through the week, there’s plenty of additional offers around the city to take advantage of, including:
Those looking to continue pairing their meals with boozy or virgin concoctions can look forward to dining at Zaap Leeds and Headingley 12-6pm on Monday – Thursday and then again on Sunday for an incredible 2 for £10 offer- you’re not going to find a more cost-effective one than this.
Encouraging responsible drinking and ensuring that there’s no worries about getting home after a night of taste testing cocktails, Eat Leeds has provided First Bus as the designated driver. The company is offering a single ticket, anywhere in West Yorkshire, for just £2.
Eat Leeds Manager Amy Rolinson has commented: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with First Bus again following a first successful partnership during Restaurant Week this summer. After Restaurant Week, we reached out to venues for feedback to plan our next steps, and the unanimous decision was to create a campaign that supported their night-time audiences.
“But, at the same time, it was vital that we encourage responsible drinking and was inclusive to both drinkers and non-drinkers, allowing all to get out and enjoy the best of Leeds by night. That’s why we are so pleased to be able to partner with First Bus again, this time for Cocktail/Mocktail Week who will ensure customers will get safely to and from the city to enjoy the event.”
The week-long event follows on from the success of Eat Leeds Restaurant Week, where foodies in Leeds could grab a set menu at endless venues for £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25.
