The exciting collaboration will see an iconic Leeds pub open its doors once again.

You may remember back in January 2024, two of Leeds’ beer powerhouses announced they’d be collaborating and bringing an iconic pub back to life.

Well after a few set backs, it is finally happening.

The legendary Victoria & Commercial in Leeds city centre has announced details of its much anticipated re-opening, with new operators Kirkstall Brewery and Whitelock’s confirming doors will re-open to the people of Leeds at 12pm on Friday 5 December.

Built in 1865, the Grade II listed building features one of Leeds’ most impressive pub interiors and following painstaking refurbishment, the pub has once again been restored to its former glory.

Better yet, the first 100 visitors to The Victoria on each of Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December will be welcomed with a complimentary pint of Kirkstall or Five Points Brewery beer, and, to kick off the season, The Victoria will host free festive entertainment across its opening weekend including Christmas singalongs and live jazz.

The new kitchen at The Victoria will be headed up by former Whitelock’s Head Chef Nick Robertson, and food will be served daily throughout the pub, showcasing local and seasonal ingredients and food suppliers.

Customers can expect pub classics, bar snacks and an absolutely banging Sunday roast to be enjoyed in the iconic Albert Room that is being re-opening as a beautiful dining room.

Ed Mason, Director – Whitelock’s said: “Many generations of Leeds locals have a special connection to the Victoria and the good times they spent there. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to bring it back to life, restoring it to its rightful place within the city’s social and cultural life. We look forward to welcoming the local community back, just in time for a Christmas drink!”
