El Gato Negro, which has been serving up the city’s best tapas since 2019, will close its doors on Park Row in June.
Famed for it’s delicious Spanish-style small plates and Tipsy Tapas, the popular city centre eatery will officially close its doors next Sunday 16 June at 8pm.
So rest assured, you’ve still got just under two weeks to enjoy a final glass of sangria and a plate of patatas bravas.
The restaurant is set to open with a brand new concept later this year, but for now it is an adios to the El Gato Negro we know and love.
As a farewell to loyal guests of of El Gato, the restaurant will be offering 50% off food on Father’s Day, Sunday 16 June, with a free pint of Northern Monk for all father figures.
And with 50% off the entire food menu you can dine on El Gato classics from the likes of Catalan bread with olive oil, garlic and fresh tomato, Harissa spiced chicken thighs, Jamón Ibérico croquetas, and Gambas Pil Pil.
Simon Shaw, Chef Patron at Mills Hill Developments Limited, said: “As of June, we have made the decision to close the doors of El Gato Negro in Leeds, however we are delighted to reveal that it’s not the end, our Park Row venue promises an exciting new concept.
“Throughout June, we will continue to serve up the tapas you know and love, so please pop in one final time, to share a few small plates with friends and celebrate with us, as we embark on our new journey.
“We would like to thank all of our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to our new exciting concept later this year.”
