Millenium Square has confirmed that it will be showing live coverage of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
The funeral is due to take place on Monday 19 September 2022, which has now been declared a Bank Holiday.
Live coverage of the funeral will begin at 10am at Millenium Square and last until around 6pm, though the timings of this are yet to be confirmed and will depend on confirmation of TV broadcast schedules.
At Millenium Square itself, those wanting to watch the funeral will be able to enter the designated viewing area free of charge, subject to capacity, and a limited number of seats will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
Millenium Square is also inviting those wishing to attend to bring their own portable chairs, food or hot drinks, should they wish. There will also be onsite catering available on the day too.
It is thought that around 2,500 visitors can fit inside the venue when seated or up to 5,900 when standing.
Announcing the news yesterday, Millenium Square also added that there will be bag checks at the event, with no alcohol, glass or large furniture allowed inside the Square.
Live coverage of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be shown on the Millennium Square Big Screen on Monday 19 September between 10am – 6pm.
