Specialising in Keralan cuisine, Tharavadu is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike.
There’s no denying that us Brits love a good curry.
Whether we like to keep it mild with a korma or step it up a level with a cheeky rogan josh, a good meal out at your local Indian restaurant is always a good idea.
But, sometimes it can be difficult to know which one really is the best.
And that’s where the 2024 British Indian Good Food Guide steps in to let us all know which places are worth braving the spice for.
The guide is committed to showcasing all of the best Indian food that Britain has to offer.
Over 12 months, it gathers public nominations and then its judges spend 12 months tucking into all the grub it has to odder, reviewing each nominee anonymously.
After all that munching, its pick of the top 20 curry houses in the country are revealed.
Waving the flag for Leeds is Tharavadu, located on Mill Hill this institution specialises in Keralan cuisine and is famously favoured by former India cricket captain Virat Kohli.
Here’s what the guide said: “A gem for Keralan cuisine lovers, Tharavadu specialises in southern Indian dishes, including seafood curries and dosa. Their use of authentic spices and traditional cooking techniques makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience regional Indian flavours”
And we couldn’t agree more, the fish curry is a personal favourite alongside practically everything else on the flavour infused menu.
Other restaurants mentioned in the list are Dishoom in Manchester, Mowgli in Liverpool and Urban Choola in Sheffield.
