Slam Dunk Festival is set to be extra special this year.
You Me At Six announced this afternoon that they will be splitting up following a successful 20 years together as a band.
From 2005 the English rock band have been performing across the world, but have announced that 2025 would be their final year as a band.
And what a more fitting way to say farewell than at the festival that started it all?
The band have been part of the ‘Slam Dunk family’ for almost two decades and even released their debut single on Slam Dunk Records in 2007, before taking to the stage at their first-ever Slam Dunk Festival.
Take Off Your Colours the debut album was also released with Slam Dunk Records and led to a main stage slot at Slam Dunk Festival, and shot to headliner status by 2009. Since then, the band returning in 2015 to headline and in 2022, the band headlined their own shows, titled ’10 Years Of Sin’ using the Slam Dunk Festival sites.
Now all good things must come to an end, and You Me At Six are set to go out with a bang. The band will have their final UK festival performance to headline Slam Dunk Festival 2024 – their fifth and final appearance at the festival.
It’s going to be a special one, that’s for sure.
You Me At Six said, “We couldn’t think of a better place to perform our last festival appearance than the festival that first ever booked us. It’s going to be a full circle moment with raw & charged up emotion in abundance. We can’t wait.”
