The Leeds Piano Trail is bringing beautiful music to every street corner this month and you do not want to miss it.
If you’ve been walking around the city recently and spotted a striking, vibrant piano covered in wonderful art then first of all, lucky you, and second of all, that is the work of the Leeds Piano Trail 2022.
The trail kicked off last week on Saturday 3 September and it has already started a joyful chorus across the city.
But what is the trail you may ask? Led by the Leeds International Piano Competition, the trial aims to share live music across the city, helping to bring music and happiness into the lives of residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
To achieve this, they have placed 6 free-standing pianos across the city, each designed by a different artist, for you to find and maybe have a go on. All abilities and ages are welcome to have a tinkle on the ivories if they feel like it.
And it doesn’t stop there, on the first Saturday of every month there will be pop-up performances at 1pm taking place at each piano, showcasing some incredible pianists who are sure to leave jaws dropped.
The trail are calling this the ‘Day of Play’, and it is a fantastic opportunity for people to gather and bond over the joy of music and art.
If you want to be a part of the trail, then the locations of all the pianos and their designers are as follows:
If you get lost trying to find a piano, just follow the blissful music and you’ll be sure to find it soon enough.
