This Mother’s Day, it’s all about expressing your gratitude with a bit of soul.

Every month, Latin-inspired fiesta bar Revs de Cuba hosts a tasty tapas experience set to the tune of a gospel choir- and this month, you can treat your mama to a live performance at their Mother’s Day special event.

Serenading your Mother’s Day at the ‘Casa Del Alma’ (meaning House of Soul) event is the New Freedom Gospel Choice, a seven-piece-choir that transform classic pop tunes from all decades into a gospel-style set of harmony.

Think ‘We Are Family’ by Sister Sledge and other R&B tunes, as well as contemporary bangers you and your mum will know, love and want to sing along to.

From 3pm – 6pm on Mothering Sunday catch the incredible live performances, there’s 2-4-1 on cocktails, coffee and tapas offers all day (and night) to take full advantage of too.

Known as the ‘Havana Good Time’ deals, choose from Spanish classics like Patatas Bravas and Calamari to transport your senses to the warmth and flavour of the Spanish coastline, or try the contemporary takes on classic Latin dishes like the Jamón Croquettas and Halloumi Tacos.

The live music kicks off from 3pm before a DJ takes over at 7pm to play tunes well into the night, but you don’t have to stay out late to make the most of Casa Del Alma on Mother’s Day: in fact, early risers have the added option of a bottomless brunch experience.

Those up for an early sesh can take advantage of the two-hour bottomless sitting provides a feel-good experience for adults of all ages. From 11am – 2pm, you can catch up with your family whilst sipping on an endless list of boozy options. Expect unlimited cocktails like Aperol Spritz, Strawberry Daquiris and Bloody Marys, as well as pints of Mahou and glasses of Prosecco.

There’s also low-alcohol options like a special Spanish shandy or Disaronno fizz to keep the bubble flowing all afternoon long- just without the Monday hangover.

That’s not all: not even close. Each bottomless brunch comes with a beautifully presented brunch will have your stomachs full and phones full of Insta-worthy food photos.

On the mains, choose from classic brunch dishes like the ever-tasty smashed avocado toast, chorizo hash and full English brekkies or opt for some rather unique choices like Rev’s breakfast burrito, which comes stuffed with smoky sausage, bacon, omelette, chorizo, mozzarella and spicy tomato sauce.

For plant-based eaters, there’s the Vegan Breakfast, consisting of Quorn sausage, grilled tomato, mushrooms, spiced black beans and spinach and served with toast or the Avocado Brunch: artisan sourdough toast topped with homemade guacamole, mango salsa and diced plum tomato, with a drizzle of olive oil and cracked black pepper.

This Mother’s Day, we’re sold on this as our go-to recommendation. The menu has enough small plates to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters and the thought an all-singing afternoon with our mother figures seems like the ideal way to celebrate family, in whatever form it comes.
