There’s a bar in Leeds that’s gone and created its own ‘fish and chip’ martinis – and we need them in our lives immediately.
Salt and vinegar might not be the first thing you think of when you’re dreaming up your perfect martini, but now we’ve heard about it we can’t stop thinking how much we want to try one.
Made with smoked Salmon infused gin, dill-infused dry vermouth, a pinch of sea salt, and lemon zest, we think you’ll agree these ‘fish and chip’ martinis actually sounds very, very fit.
They’ve been created by Hedonist drinks, who’ve teamed up with swimwear brand Pour Moi to create four special cocktails that bring back memories of our most nostalgic British summer moments.
As well as a ‘fish and chips’ martini, they’ve also created a ’99 Mr. Softee cone-inspired drink called the ’99 Ice Cream Dream’, a retro Twister ice cream lolly-inspired ‘Twisted Tipple’, and a ‘Burnt BBQ Sour’ – which is inspired by exactly what you think. Burnt BBQ sausages.
The burnt BBQ cocktail draws in smokey flavours using mezcal, balanced with a mix of sweet apple cider, lime and muscovado sugar. Garnished with a thyme sprig, it’s the most elegant burnt BBQ beverage we’ve ever seen.
‘Twisted Tipple’ meanwhile is actually frozen, coming as a grown-up version of the childhood Twister lolly favourite. There’s two layers, one of gin, one of rum, made with extras like pineapple juice, melon liqueur and strawberry syrup.
The best bit about all of these new drinks? You can make them all at home.
“It has been so much fun creating these cocktail recipes,” said Michael Thomson, founder of Pour Moi.
“We know our customers love to enjoy a cocktail by the pool on their holidays, so we thought we’d create some new and original tipples for them to try that celebrate the Great British summer holiday.
“Some of the recipes are a bit out there, but that’s what makes them so fun – they’ll certainly be a talking point of your summer garden or pool party!”
