Whether you’re celebrating the first proper New Year’s Eve night out since pre-pandemic times or looking for somewhere to let your hair down one last time for the year, we’ve got you covered.

If you want to party like you’re watching the big ball drop in New York city, the Manahatta New Year’s Eve, NYC Style is the perfect alternative. Drinks tables are available to book from 8pm and available until 3am on Greek Street, 2pm on Merrion Street and Headingley, so you can keep the party going all night long, or those wanting an early start can book a NYE Bottomless Party package and take full advantage of free-flowing drinks for 90 minutes to kick off the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Tickets cost £15-£20 for entry on New Year’s Eve from 8pm and the NYE Bottomless Party costs £42.95 per person.

Live music is the best way to forget your new year’s resolutions and wintry woes- and BOX is going to be bringing the whole band out for a night of unforgettable tunes this New Year’s Eve. There’s plenty of options available on the night including ‘bottle to table’ service, a huge drinks list and late opening hours so that you can keep celebrating into the early hours.

Chow Down: NYE at the Winter Village

Temple Arches, Leeds city centre | 8pm – 1am

The final night for Chow Down (not just for 2022, these guys actually shut their doors until the summer after NYE), there’s everything we’ve grown to love and expect from the Arches open-air space and far more. Local DJs will be bringing the tunes, Bastard’s Bistro, The Middle Feast and The Savvy Baker will be providing the snacks, and the bar will be flowing with steins, cocktail and mulled drinks- this is going to be one heck of a closing party.

Tickets cost £10 each and include a glass of fizz on arrival.

Canary Bar

Leeds Dock, Leeds city centre | Open 8pm – 3am

There’s free fizz on arrival, DJs from 10pm and then another glass of fizz at midnight- New Year’s Eve down by the dock is going to be one to remember. With a unique house party feel and a limited number of tickets, this is ideal for those looking for a place to let their hair down in an intimate setting over two floors.

The Wardrobe: NYE Comedy Celebrations

Rumour has it that The Wardrobe hosts ‘one of the best’ when it comes to New Year’s Eve celebrations – and this year expect plenty of booze, brass music and bellies of laughter courtesy of special performances from Scott Bennett, Stephen Bailey, Allyson June Smith and Barry Dodds.

Tickets cost £25 each when booked in advance or £30 on the door.

Roxy Games Night

Large groups and mates dates alike might be looking for something a little more stimulating that sitting in the bar, and all Roxy venues in Leeds will be offering a jam-packed evening of games aplenty to choose from to fill your New Year’s Eve. Expect bowling, beer pong, ice-free curling, karaoke, shooting hoops, pouring pints and even a dedicated bar space at each venue to unwind, catch up and embrace one of the biggest nights in the city of the year.

Projekt New Year’s Eve: the past, the present, the future

O2 Academy Leeds, Millenium Square | 10pm – 4am

The Past, The Present, The Future is all about celebrating a decade of dance with A Decade Of Dance the North’s biggest weekly event. Doors open at 10.30pm and according to the organisers, is going to be an opportunity to bring in a ‘record breaking year at the O2 Academy as we look to the future’. 

Tickets cost £12.50 – £15.50 each, depending on which release you buy.

Banyan Steak Dinner

City Square, Ilkley, Roundhay, Horsforth and Harrogate | Available 12pm- 10pm

If you fancy welcoming the new year in with a hearty meal in the heart of Leeds, Banyan has you covered. Welcoming a two course set dinner menu, you’ll get a glass of Moet Champagne to toast to new beginnings whilst tucking into a 10oz steak dinner with gastro chips, beer battered onion rings and your choice of sauce. Alesewhere on the menu, there’s deep fried brie wedges, king prawn spring rolls, harissa roast cauliflower and a dedicated wine and Champagne selection to pair with the food.

The two course menu with a glass of Moët Champagne costs £40 per person.

Revs de Cuba

Naturally Revs de Cuba is throwing all all-out New Year’s Eve party that will be nothing short of an experience. Think cocktails aplenty, VIP wristband options and copious amounts of rum. Last entry is at midnight, but the party here will keep going until 3am, perfect for those wanting to have a full night out in Leeds this NYE.

Tickets cost £55 for an all nighter VIP guest list ticket, but can be found for as little as a tenner.

Opera North’s New Year Viennese Whirls

Huddersfield Town Hall / Hull City Hall | Friday 30 December – Saturday 31 December 2022

New Year’s Eve means music, and lots of it. For those in search of a dramatic evening without fighting for a seat in their local will be excited to hear that German conductor Christoph Altstaedt (think Hansel and Gretel and Don Giovanni) is returning to the Orchestra of Opera North for two traditional Viennese Whirl concerts. Taking place at Huddersfield Town Hall on 30 December and Hull City Hall on New Year’s Eve, 31 December, with soprano Jennifer France as guest soloist- any fan of Opera North will love this New Year’s alternative out of the city centre.

NYE Special at The Space

Hirst’s Yard, Leeds city centre | 10pm – 5am

A dedicated event for students and under 25s, The Space is bringing in the new year with a full night of floorfillers and dance anthems. Take your pick from Urban, Hip Hop and RnB with some of Leeds’ finest resident DJs or take your moves into the main room for the sound of the underground with hard hitting House and Techno beats.

Tickets cost £12.50 each, plus booking fee.
