Leeds Festival headliner does surprise set nearly 24 hours after going ‘missing’
Fans were NOT happy yesterday and have been asking for refunds.
A Leeds Festival headliner who missed his main stage slot yesterday has appeared on stage on Saturday afternoon for a 'surprise set'.
Rapper Lil TJay left fans at Bramham Park gutted on Friday when he failed to arrive on site.
Leeds Festival organisers informed the huge crowd at Main Stage West that they had been 'unable to contact' the star, and cancelled his performance.
Messages displayed on screens read: "Unfortunately, Lil TJay hasn’t arrived on site and we haven’t been able to contact him. We hope he will arrive soon."
But then today, the festival announced another surprise set, and it turns out Lil TJay has finally decided to make an appearance.
The 'Calling My Phone' singer took to Main Stage West at midday on Saturday, almost 24 hours after skipping out on his scheduled performance.
Fans were fuming yesterday with Lil TJay's mystery disappearance from Leeds Festival.
One person wrote: "I bought a Friday Leeds fest ticket predominantly just to @liltjay and he doesn’t show up like wtf. Is there going to be any compensation ?"
Another said: "Fancy giving us a partial refund for lil tjay not showing up, outraged x"
Someone else posted: "the way lil tjay just didn’t show up for his set at leeds fest n showed no communication to the organisers… that’s like rlly snide icl."
And one person said: "@liltjay disgusting u didn’t turn up to Leeds! Saw a lot of ur fans who were buzzing to see u. If that’s how u treat ur fans f*ck u bro disgusting."
Lil TJay posted a video on his Instagram stories last night in which he said: "And for today, everybody that missed the set I'm sorry. I missed the set I'm sorry. I'm gonna be there 12.30 [12pm] make sure you're there. Show me some love."
Today's headliners at Leeds Festival include Foals, Sam Fender, and Wet Leg. You can follow along with all the action from Bramham Park on The Hoot's Instagram page.

A Pulp pop-up pub is coming to Sheffield, taking over a beloved local boozer
Daisy Jackson
A Pulp pop-up pub is heading to Sheffield later this month, following unbelievable success over in Manchester.
The Sheffield icons will be taking charge of beloved local boozer and grassroots gig venue The Hallamshire Hotel.
The news was announced this afternoon by Rough Trade Records, along with Pulp themselves.
While they're keeping the exact details under wraps for now, we've got a pretty good idea of what we might be able to expect, based on their pop-up pub in Manchester in August.
There, there was a jukebox programmed by Jarvis Cocker himself, along with merch literally plastered on every wall and even the ceilings.
The previous Pulp pop-up pub had loads of merch for sale, from tees and totes to records and stickers.
The walls were turned into a shrine for the band, showcasing posters and photography from throughout their illustrious career.
And the crowds came through in a big way, queueing halfway down the street for a chance to be totally immersed in all things Pulp.
So much so, The Rat & Pigeon (who hosted the Manchester edition) have warned on social media: "Note to @hallamshire_hotel - you WILL be 10x busier than you expect - even if it’s pissing it down. Enjoy!"
For their Sheffield pop-up, all we know for sure is the location (The Hallamshire Hotel) and the date (30 October).
More details are set to be announced soon.
