In what can only be described as a proper stroke of culinary genius, Iceland has just launched hash browns the size of a plate.
And fans are already absolutely obsessed with them.
Hash browns are an integral part of British cuisine at this point, right? Those little crispy potato creations prove time and time again to be an ideal snack for anyone who finds themselves a bit reliant on fried food to get through a hangover from hell, or merely just to wake up on a lazy Sunday morning.
You may remember a couple of years back that Iceland started selling Heinz’s two new hash brown creations, hash browns filled with Heinz Baked Beanz and hash browns filled with tomato ketchup at its supermarkets across the UK, and it’s safe to say they’ve been going down a treat ever since, so we can only imagine these new plate-sized variations will be just as well-received.

If the hundreds of comments from hungry shoppers are anything to go by already, it looks like we’re right too.
Instead of being the little triangular or oval-shaped side accompaniments we’ve come to expect from a regular hash brown, Iceland’s Plate Sized Hash Browns are exactly what they say on the tin – hash browns the size of the plate you’ll probably need to serve them on.
Described as being “ridiculously crispy”, these new plate-sized hash browns come in boxes of two, and are suitable for cooking from frozen in either the oven, a pan, or the air fryer.
The best bit? It’ll only set you back £2 for a box, so you won’t need to break the bank either.
Reviews from foodies who’ve already been able to head on down to their nearest Iceland and get their hands on the new potato creation seem to be glowing already, with one fan summing the experience up simply by writing on Iceland’s official Instagram post introducing the new creation that they’re “the stuff of dreams”.
Others have been taking to the comments to share their thoughts and tips on how best to serve them, or give ideas on quirky ways to incorporate them into meals.
“Wrap it in a Yorkshire pudding and you’re sorted,” one person wrote, while another added: “Fill it with the rest of a full breakfast,” and a third commented: “Two of these with crispy smoked bacon sandwiched between. Absolutely delicious”.
Other fans chipped in with suggestions like: “Yummy with bacon, beans, sausage, egg, and brown sauce all on top”, and “I see a hash brown pizza creation in the future.”

A viral apothecary shop in Yorkshire has warned visitors about huge queues forming outside its doors, urging people to visit during the week if they want to avoid the crowds.
The Cabinet of Curiosities in Haworth has become a popular destination for those looking to really get into the autumn spirit.
And it seems like there's a lot of people who are looking to do so, as huge queues have been forming along the quaint cobbled streets of Haworth.
So much so, that owner Carolin had to issue a statement via The Cabinet of Curiosities Instagram page.

It reads: "Weekends in Haworth have become particularly busy during Autumn and we are so grateful to all those lovely souls who have patiently queued to visit the shop.
"We are so honoured that you are happy to wait to come in to our magical apothecary shop, and I can’t quite believe it when I look out of the windows and see the queue snaking up the cobbles. Be assured that the queue does move fast and it makes for a far more pleasurable visit if there are fewer people in the shop at once.

"If you would rather avoid the busy times it’s best to visit during the week if you can. Our shop is open 7 days a week 10-5, but to make sure all the shops in Haworth are open then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are probably the best days to visit.

Tesco has officially unveiled its Christmas Meal Deal menu for 2026, and has revealed when it’ll be arriving in stores.
Spooky season may not have even arrived yet, but it won’t be long before the most wonderful time of the year is here and most of the UK’s major supermarkets have already started stocking their shelves with Christmas food, drink, and gifts galore.
Tesco has now unveiled all the sandwiches and snacks forming part of its iconic lunchtime meal deal selection.
10 new seasonal mains and sides have been launched this year, as well as some classics and returning fan favourites too.

The retailer says its food on-the-go experts have worked hard to bring a variety of festive flavours and great-quality ingredients together this year, with something on offer to cater to all tastes and preferences.
Available in stores and online from next week, with Tesco Clubcard members paying just £3.80 or £5.50 to upgrade to a Premium Meal Deal, some of the all-new main options you can choose from in 2026’s festive lineup include the Fully Loaded Chicken, Stuffing, Braised Red Cabbage & Cranberry Sauce Sandwich, the Christmas Triple Sandwich, and the Pork Meatball Wrap with smoky sage and onion mayonnaise.
Other returning favourites include the Brie and Cranberry Sandwich, the Currywurst Sausage Sub, and the absolute classic Turkey & Trimmings Sandwich.
For veggies and vegans, there’s a new Tesco Plant Chef Christmas Veg Fest Wrap, and for those who follow a gluten free diet, you can grab the Gluten Free Festive Chicken & Trimmings sandwich.
When it comes to snacks to accompany those mains, the festive Mini Pork Pies and Pig in Blanket Sausage Rolls are returning to the lineup this year, alongside some new additions like the Pretzels with Salted Caramel Soft Cheese Dip, and Mini Cheese Twists.
The 2026 Tesco Christmas Meal Deal range will be in stores across the UK from Monday 12 October, and there’s thousands of combinations to try.
