It’s time to update your LinkedIn profile, because Leeds has been ranked one of the happiest places to work in the UK.
If you’re feeling a bit bogged down or sad at work recently then it’s time to stop immediately because according to a new study, you should be as happy as Larry working in our wonderful city.
The study, carried out by Furniture At Work, looked at a variety of factors in order to discover the happiest regions in the country for work.
It took into accounts things such as flexible working, average salary and lifestyle factors.
Being the biggest city in Yorkshire, Leeds of course has a lot of job opportunities which gave it an impressive index rating of 69.9.
Leeds was said to have fantastic links to other cities via the train and bus routes to speed up commutes, as well as having a local airport.
It also has a young population being one of the biggest student cities in the country.
Sheffield came in 13th place, Hull in 19th and Bradford in 21st place.
Coming in first place was Edinburgh which surprisingly beat London to the top spot, third place was Bristol followed by Leeds in fourth and Newcastle in fifth.

A spokesperson for the research said: “Looking at the results of this study, it’s no surprise that London continues to be one of the world’s most desirable cities to work and study in – especially thanks to the world-class public transport available to speed up commute times and diverse population allowing communities to flourish.
“Work satisfaction isn’t just about the job itself but how it affects your everyday life both in and out of work. This study offers practical insights for employers to consider that directly impact culture and overall happiness, which also encourage staff retention.”
