An outdoor cinema pop-up is making its way back to Leeds city centre this year for some summer dates, screening cult classics.
Cinema on the Square has become a favourite in our calendar now, partly due to the fact they play some of the best and most iconic films of all time - and this year is no exception.
Year in and year out, this outdoor cinema pop-up knows how to captivate its audiences, with last year’s bill featuring the likes of Barbie, Wonka, and Moulin Rouge.
Now, Cinema on the Square is back with a stacked roster of films that are instant crowd-pleasers.
Of course, Cinema on the Square had to screen Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small, especially since the cute bunny and all her friends have taken over Leeds City Museum.
Another film which is set to guarantee a large crowd is pop culture phenomenon Wicked, and it’s not just any old screening of this movie musical - it’s a sing-along.
If that’s not enough singing for you, how about chanting all the words to ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ too? That’s right, Disney’s animated musical Encanto is also playing this summer.
An outdoor summer cinema is returning to Millennium Square in Leeds city centre this summer
The 80s is often cited as the best decade for music, and now you have a chance to relive your youth, or experience it for the first time, with Desperately Seeking Susan starring Madonna.
Or why not broaden your knowledge on mountaineering through gripping docudrama Touching The Void, which follows an incredible and captivating survival story.
There’s more than 15 different films playing out across Millennium Square from Thursday 31 July to Sunday 3 August.
Cinema on the Square is taking place right here in Leeds city centre and anyone after tickets to one of the screenings or more can find all the information HERE.
The Stranglers have been announced as the third headliner of 'Live At Tileyard North'.
The new two-week series of outdoor live music will take place in central Wakefield, with The Stranglers taking to the stage on Friday 21 August at the historic courtyard of Rutland Mills.
Formed back in 1974, The Stranglers quickly made a name for themselves by embracing the punk movement of the late 70s.
Their first three albums (Rattus Norvegicus, No More Heroes and Black and White) were released within just 13 months of each other, scoring hit singles with ‘Peaches’, ‘No More Heroes’ and ‘Walk On By’.

In 2024 The Stranglers’ 50th anniversary year featured celebratory sell-out tours across the world and headline slots at festivals worldwide, including a sell-out performance at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall.
The Stranglers will be joined by a full supporting line-up including fellow punk legends Buzzcocks as well as alternative-indie quintet FEET and buzzy Irish garage rock trio Adore.
Previously announced Live at Tileyard North headliners include the Vaccines, who will be in Wakefield performing their critically acclaimed 2011 debut album What Did You Expect From the Vaccines? in full to celebrate 15 years since its release on Sunday 30 August, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor who will headline the outdoor venue on Thursday 27 August.
It's safe to say it will be a very fun two weeks indeed, now we just need to wait until summer arrives.
Postcode pre-sale for residents local to Tileyard North (WF1, WF2, WF3, WF4, WF5, WF6) will open at 10am on Wednesday 21 January here with general sale opening at 10am on Friday 23 January here.

But where might you ask? Well, none other than the scenic location of the Lockside overlooking the canal.
Slotting right in next to BAKE, they're going to be in very good company indeed.
