Every summer, Tramlines transforms Sheffield into one of the UK's biggest music celebrations.

Returning to Hillsborough Park this summer, the festival combines major headline acts, emerging artists, local food and drink, comedy, and the famous Tramlines Fringe across the city.

This year will feature headline performances from Courteeners, Wolf Alice, and Fatboy Slim, with absolutely loads more live music on across five stages.

It's one of the biggest events in Sheffield's cultural calendar and we've rounded up everything you need to know before you go.

Here's your essential Tramlines Festival 2026 guide, from stage times and lineup, to VIP upgrades, the festival map, and travel info.

When is Tramlines 2026?

Tramlines will be taking place across three days in 2026 - Friday 24 July, Saturday 25 July, and Sunday 26 July.

Tramlines has unveiled another huge bill for 2026, featuring some of the biggest names in indie, rock and dance music.

Headliners this year are Fatboy Slim, Courteeners, and Wolf Alice, with plenty more talent performing across the five stages this weekend.

Also on the Tramlines 2026 lineup you'll find Blossoms, Kaiser Chiefs, Rick Astley, Wet Leg, Reverend & The Makers, and loads more.

What time does the Tramlines festival site open and close?

Tramlines is a no-camping festival, which means you'll need to enter and leave Hillsborough Park each day of the festival.

Gates will open at 12pm on each day, with last entry at 7.30pm.

You'll need to be in the queue by 7.15pm at the latest though to make it through the gates before they close.

The festival is expecting the entrances to be their busiest between 4pm and 6.30pm on Friday, 3pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, and 2pm and 6.30pm on Sunday - so if you'd rather avoid a queue, arrive outside of those times.

Stage times for Tramlines 2026

The music, comedy, and family activities at Tramlines 2026 will be taking place across five stages.

The Sarah Nulty Main Stage will host the biggest headliners; T'Other Stage has an amazing lineup of indie bands, alternative pop, and major comedy sets; The Leadmill Stage highlights grassroots and emerging talent; The Library Stage will be a dedicated spot for music discovery; and The Open Arms will be Tramlines' very own 'pub' with a buzzing community atmosphere and general entertainment.

Headliners Courteeners and Fatboy Slim will take to the main stage on Friday and Saturday at 8.45pm, while Wolf Alice will kick off their headline Sunday set from 7.45pm.

Tramlines takes place at Hillsborough Park, just a few miles from Sheffield city centre, with one entrance on Penistone Road (S6 2AN) and another on Middlewood Road.

  • On foot - Tramlines Festival has said that travelling on foot is the most reliable way to reach Hillsborough Park.
  • By tram - The Sheffield Supertram network provides one of the easiest ways to reach the festival, with stops close to the park entrance and services running every six minutes (though delays are possible post-festival due to pedestrians on the roads).
  • By train - Sheffield railway station is well connected with services from Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, London and beyond. From the station you can catch the Supertram or local buses to Hillsborough.
  • By bus - Several bus routes serve Hillsborough throughout the weekend
  • By car - Driving is discouraged as there is no on-site parking, and restrictions on nearby residential roads. Festival-goers are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible

Tickets

Tickets for Tramlines 2026 have completely sold out, but there are quite a lot available as resale tickets.

You're best to check through the official Tramlines website to get your hands on a ticket for this weekend.

What does Tramlines VIP get you, and how to upgrade

VIP benefits at Tramlines include fast-track festival entry, an exclusive VIP viewing and relaxation areas, premium toilets, dedicated VIP bars, street food vendors, and additional seating.

For 2026, festival-goers can also book The Fancy Bit, Tramlines' premium hospitality experience, which includes VIP access alongside additional exclusive facilities.

Tramlines Fringe

Tramlines Fringe

The Fringe at Tramlines returns from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July, bringing hundreds of free live performances to venues across Sheffield alongside the main festival at Hillsborough Park.

This year's Fringe features more than 50 venues and spaces, from Devonshire Green and the city centre to pubs, clubs, courtyards, gardens and independent venues, making it one of the UK's biggest free music events.

Highlights include three days of live music on the Devonshire Green Main Stage, the reopening of the WaterBear Green Room following a major refurbishment, and the first Music + Wellbeing Conversation hosted by Tickets for Good at The Workstation on Friday.

The Fringe attracts around 40,000 visitors each year, supporting Sheffield's independent venues, artists and businesses while creating a festival atmosphere across the city. Full event listings are available HERE.

Embark on a magical Christmas adventure this festive season at Gulliver’s Valley Resort

Get ready for an array of Christmas celebrations for all the family at Gulliver's Valley Theme Park Resort Rotherham.

The peak-time packages start at just £27 per person with the ‘Smasher’, which includes selected outdoor Christmas rides and attractions, indoor attractions, a visit to the Dragon’s Lair, and the chance to explore Santa’s house and meet him in his grotto, where children can choose a gift from the Elf Workshop.

Guests can enjoy a ‘Festive Breakfast’ package for £33 per person, which includes everything featured in the ‘Smasher’, along with the chance to see Gully’s Christmas Show, alongside a breakfast to keep you fuelled for the day.

The ‘Cracker’ package, at £34 per person, features everything in the ‘Festive Breakfast’ but comes with dinner rather than breakfast and the ‘Twinkle’ package, at £39 per person, includes entry to the magical Land of Lights Lantern Festival.

And it doesn't stop there, there are also two off-peak packages – ‘Tinsel Tots’ at £15 per person and ‘Dancer’ at £19 per person.

All packages include a trip on Santa’s Enchanted Elevator.

John Burkhill ‘The Man with the Pram’ to be honoured ‘Sheffield Legends’ star outside Town Hall

If you know Sheffield, then you’ll know John Burkhill, better known to many as the ‘The Man with a Pram’.

You can’t really miss him either.

Usually dressed in his iconic bright green clothing, sporting the curly green wig, and pushing his trusty pram, John has become one of the city’s most recognisable faces all while raising an incredible £1.2 million and counting for Macmillan Cancer Support.

John began fundraising after losing both his wife June and his 29-year-old daughter Karen within the same year, going on to take on countless marathons and challenges in their memory.

Now, after years of raising an incredible amount for charity and becoming such a much-loved part of Sheffield, he’s set to be honoured with a new ‘Sheffield Legends’ star.

It’s about time there was a permanent reminder of everything John has done for the city, don't you think?

In a statement on his social media, John wrote: "Ey up Sheffield, I've been keeping a bit of a secret, but next Tuesday there's something very special happening at Sheffield Town Hall.

"I'm incredibly honoured to be receiving a Sheffield Legends plaque. This recognition is about the people of Sheffield. The people who've stopped for a chat, cheered me on from across the road, given me a high five, or dropped a few bob into the pram. You have been part of this journey every step of the way, and I'm incredibly grateful for your support.

"Together we've raised over £1.2 million and made a difference to people living with cancer. That's something this city should be proud of.

"Thank you, Sheffield, for getting behind me for all these years. I'll be thinking of June and Karen, and I'll be wearing my green wig with pride. Hope to see some familiar faces there."
