One of the biggest music events in Leeds won’t be taking place in 2026, organisers have announced.

BOTH Live at Leeds events – the main event in Temple Newsam and the more fringe music event Live at Leeds: In The City will be taking a year off.

The news has been met with sadness from music fans in the city, who annually flock to both festivals to see huge names as well as up-and-coming talent.

Previous headliners have included the likes of Bloc Party, The Kooks, and Two Door Cinema Club.

The main event usually takes place each May, effectively kicking off the UK’s busy festival circuit.

Live at Leeds has assured ‘gutted’ fans that this won’t be the end of the road for its event.

In a statement shared today, Live at Leeds wrote: “Live at Leeds ‘In the Park’ and ‘In the City’ will be taking a break in 2026.

“Both festivals are organised by a small, passionate team of music lovers, who have been proud to deliver amazing festivals, every year for the last 18 years.

“However, we have decided that we need to pause for a year to allow us to move forward with the best possible version of the festival for the future.

“We know how important both festivals are to the city, to the independent businesses they support, to the emerging artists they showcase but most of all to the fans of live music who support us year in year out.

“The team are fully committed to coming back, better than ever, for our 20th anniversary in 2027 and we are excited to share our plans with you soon. Team Live at Leeds”
