Legendary Indian restaurant group Dishoom is coming to Leeds

From Bombay to Leeds.

Dishoom is finally set to open in Leeds, and it’s taking over a major spot in the city centre.

The award-winning Indian restaurant group is set to open in the former Flannels site on Vicar Lane.

Licensing application signs have appeared in the windows of the former department store announcing its imminent arrival into Leeds for the first time ever.

Dishoom is inspired by the Irani cafes of 1960s Bombay, which were meeting places for people from all walks of life.

The restaurants are designed to replicate the early and mid 20th century Bombay aesthetic, with features like family portraits, marble tables, and chequerboard-tiled flooring.

Famed for their Indian twist on a classic breakfast (seriously, their breakfast naans are out of this world), Dishoom offers an all-day dining approach so you can get your Bombay fix from morning to noon and noon to night.

The licensing application is requesting the permission to sell alcohol between 8am and 12am from Monday to Sunday.

Of course we don’t know the opening date of Dishoom, but we’ll be sure to keep you in the know as soon as we receive more information.

You can view the online licensing application for yourself here.

In the meantime you can head to Dishoom over in Manchester to get a taste of what will be coming over from across the Pennines.

Take a look at their website to find out more and we’ll see you there.
