Popular barbecue restaurant chain set to open in Leeds this weekend

Good old Southern hospitality is coming to Leeds.

Hickory’s Smokehouse will be taking over the empty Lawnswood Arms site in Adel.

Founded in Chester in 2010, Hickory’s Smokehouse is a popular chain barbecue restaurant known for its authentic Texas-style BBQ meats and platters.

This will be the chain’s third venue in Yorkshire and its very first site in Leeds.

Taking over the former Lawnswood Arms site in Adel which closed months ago for a major refurbishment, the new venue will open this Sunday 16 June just in time for Father’s Day.

Guests can expect the full barbecue experience in a family-friendly atmosphere, complete with big booths to seat groups as well as a secure play area for kids.

The new space will also feature an outdoor drinking and dining area (fingers crossed the sun starts to make an appearance), as well as multiple large screens for people to watch live sport.

Menu highlights include frickles (aka fried pickles), eight-house smoked beef ribs, huge smokehouse platters with all the meat you can imagine and whole deep fried onions which are made perfect for dipping and sharing.

Did someone say a Euros watching party with a Hickory’s BBQ platter? Sounds like a plan.

The Hickory Smokehouse’s Adel website says: “We are so excited that Hickory’s is coming to Adel, Leeds at the start of summer. We’re getting to know the area & looking forward to meeting you all.

“We’re preparing to unveil our unique take on Southern hospitality to you, our neighbours and the good people of Adel, Leeds & beyond.”

Bookings are now open and you can book your table here.
