The Man Behind The Curtain launches new ‘Menu Rapide’ as a more affordable dining option

Starting at just £40 per head.

Leeds’ only Michelin Star restaurant has launched a better value for money menu designed to make their food more accessible to many.

Michael O’Hare’s The Man Behind The Curtain paves the way for fine dining and culinary excellence in Leeds.

With one Michelin star, diners visiting the underground restaurant on Vicar Lane can expect to embark on an experimental culinary journey consisting of 14 courses which encapsulate all the senses.

With dishes called Sex Wax, Macarons ‘Damien Hirst’ and Dali to Delhi – this isn’t just your average meal out.

But amidst the ongoing cost of living crisis, restaurants across the country are struggling to fill tables and even TMBTC is struggling to fill the dining room which for years has been booked up months in advance.

In response to this, O’Hare has launched a new ‘Menu Rapide’ which aims to attract more local diners who are looking for something lighter, more relaxed and at a more affordable price point.

This new streamlined menu is available for both lunch and dinner, with bookings being released two weeks in advance.

For significantly less than the usual £165 dinner charge at The Man Behind The Curtain, diners can opt for a four-course lunch menu for £40 a head or a six-course dinner menu for just £60.

It is a great opportunity for those who have been wanting to visit The Man Behind The Curtain but perhaps haven’t been able to justify the high price point.

Both menus feature O’Hare’s iconic cod ‘Emancipation’ dish which won him a place at the final dinner party menu on the 2015 BBC series of The Great British Menu.

Bookings are released two weeks in advance here on the restaurant’s website.
