A premium fashion and lifestyle brand renowned for its luxury activewear is set to open in Leeds.
That's right, Alo is coming to Leeds.
Founded in Los Angeles back in 2007, and making a splash on social media and growing in popularity ever since, Alo is a favourite among wellness enthusiasts and celebrities alike thanks to offering a curated collection of elevated performance and lifestyle apparel for all genders, aiming to blend the best of technical excellence with contemporary fashion.
Designed to inspire ‘mindful movement’ and ‘modern living’, the brand has a strong commitment to mind-body wellness, and even likes to call its stores sanctuaries.
Alo already has a selection of stores in London, and after announcing their move to Manchester in May this will be their second store outside of London.

And of course they've chosen to set up shop in Leeds' iconic Victoria Quarter, where else?
Alo's application suggests it will be moving into the unit that previously housed Ted Baker, which spans across three floors.
The application says: "The existing front staircase will have new floor finishes and nosing, along with a new balustrade and handrail. The emergency escape staircase will also receive a new vinyl floor finish, while the existing handrail will be retained and repaired as needed.
"The first floor is only accessible through the existing stairway, which will be kept in units 23-25. Although there is no lift provided, Alo Yoga has ensured an accessible unisex fitting room on the ground floor.
“The retail offerings will be duplicated on both floors, meaning that customers with mobility issues who cannot use the staircase will not be at a disadvantage. Customer service is a priority for Alo Yoga, and all staff will be trained to assist customers in finding the right products.”
30 years on from the film that changed everything, and following its successful world premiere run in London’s West End, Trainspotting The Musical is heading out on a major UK tour later this year, and will be taking to one of Leeds' most iconic stages this winter.
Written by Irvine Welsh – as adapted from his best-selling debut novel – and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger, Trainspotting The Musical has been described by critics as ‘radical, invigorating and life-affirming’ since its premiere.
It’s said to be an unforgettable production that’ll have even the most sceptical audiences leave on a ‘consciousness-altering high.’
In 1996, the breakthrough British film of the same name was released and became the biggest grossing UK film of the year, winning a slew of awards in the process – including a BAFTA for Best Screenplay, and even being ranked tenth in the BFI’s top 100 greatest British films of the 20th century.
Now, three decades later, the industrial drug crazed working-class heroes of British youth culture are back… but this time, live on stage.
“I believe the musical has a bigger, loudly beating human heart than either the book or the film,” creator Irvine Welsh commented as the UK tour was announced this week.
“People need to think about the world we’re living in, and we offer that inspection, but they also need to sing their hearts out and laugh their heads off. It’s what being human is all about. We’ve put together an incredible Scottish cast and I can’t wait to see them bring the musical to life.”
Trainspotting The Musical will taking to the stage at the Leeds Grand Theatre from Monday 7 until Saturday 12 December 2026.
