Arctic Monkeys are releasing new music THIS WEEK as part of an upcoming War Child project

Arctic Monkeys are back in business, with new music on the way later this week.
The legendary Sheffield indie group have been largely silent (as usual) since the release of their last album, The Car, back in 2022.
But today, War Child has confirmed that the Alex Turner-fronted group are coming back with a new song, in support of the charity's upcoming project to provide aid for children living through war.
Arctic Monkeys are the first to be announced for the new War Child Records project, but if you leap to some conclusions based on who the new account is following, there are set to be some BIG names involved.
As well as Arctic Monkeys, War Child Records is also following 32 artists including Fontaines DC, Olivia Rodrigo, Wet Leg, Foals, Damon Albarn, Pulp, Depeche Mode, English Teacher, and Beck - to name just a few.
Based on this afternoon's teaser announcement, the new Arctic Monkeys single will be live at 3pm on Thursday 22 January.
War Child has said: "There is a group of artists who are working on something important in support of War Child. There will be more information coming soon.
"No child should be part of war. Ever. For over 30 years, War Child has worked in some of the world's most dangerous places to protect, educate, support mental health and stand up for the rights of children.
"Today our challenge is bigger than ever.
"When the legendary HELP album was released in 1995, 10% of the world's children were affected by conflict.
"That figure has almost doubled to 19%, affecting 520 million children. Right now, 1 in 5 children worldwide are at risk of losing their childhoods to conflict.

Pop royalty S Club announce new arena tour, with huge Leeds and Sheffield gigs

S Club will be heading back to Yorkshire on a newly-announced 13-date arena tour next year.
The pop icons have announced the Ain’t No Party Like A S Club Party tour, which will see Bradley, Jo, Jon, Rachel and Tina back on stage for the ultimate pop party.
The huge tour includes a night at the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds, a night at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, as well as two gigs at the O2 in London.
S Club are one of Britain’s most successful pop groups, formerly known as S Club 7, who went on to become a cultural phenomenon with their own TV series – one of which, L.A. 7, remains the highest-rated programme of all time on CBBC.
Their smash hits include Reach, Don’t Stop Movin, Bring It All Back, Never Had A Dream Come True, and S Club Party.
In 2023, S Club celebrated their 25th anniversary with a sellout UK and US tour, shortly after the tragic death of former member Paul Cattermole.
Now, five of the original seven are ready to bring the party back to Manchester, as S Club return to the stage.
They’ll have very special guests supporting on the tour too, announcing Boyzlife, the supergroup made up of the former Boyzone and Westlife members Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden.
S Club say: “We can’t wait to get back out on tour, see you all and celebrate the songs, memories and moments we’ve shared together over the years.
“It’s going to be one BIG party, and we want you all to be part of it!”

Britpop legends Pulp to be inducted into Sheffield’s Walk of Fame this Friday

Sheffield music royalty Pulp are getting their very own star on the Sheffield Walk of Fame.
I mean...it's about time, isn't it?
The Britpop favourites fronted by icon Jarvis Cocker will be officially inducted into the Sheffield Legends Walk of Fame outside Sheffield Town Hall this Friday 30 October, with the unveiling scheduled for 2pm.
And don't fret, because anyone can head down to watch the occasion and show their support for the beloved band.
Not just that, but the band will be taking charge of a beloved local boozer and grassroots gig venue The Hallamshire Hotel on the same evening.
The news was announced on 9 October by Rough Trade Records, along with Pulp themselves.
Their pop-up pub in Manchester in August featured a jukebox programmed by Jarvis Cocker himself, along with merch literally plastered on every wall and even the ceilings.
The previous Pulp pop-up pub had loads of merch for sale, from tees and totes to records and stickers.
The walls were turned into a shrine for the band, showcasing posters and photography from throughout their illustrious career.
And the crowds came through in a big way, queueing halfway down the street for a chance to be totally immersed in all things Pulp.
This pop-up will have a Pulp quiz, pop-up shop, fancy dress competition and even Pulp karaoke...sign us up.
So this Friday, 30 October, you can head down to support Pulp and the unveiling of their coveted star before heading to The Hallamshire Hotel all for their very own pop-up pub experience for a couple pints or two.
Sounds like a perfect Friday night to us.
