If there’s one thing the Yorkshire Dales has never been short of, it’s beautiful places to escape to.
Now there’s another reason to book a night or two in the Dales - and it involves a very good bed, a private terrace, and an outdoor bath.
Aysgarth Falls Hotel is set to unveil 14 new Hyllside Suites later this year, tucked between the hotel’s historic main house and the famous triple waterfall.
The interiors take their inspiration directly from the landscape, with three distinct styles of suite available - Traditional, Classic and Contemporary - bringing together woodland-inspired timber, earthy tones, soft mushroom shades and flashes of cornflower blue.
The idea is to create somewhere that feels warm, comfortable and connected to the countryside outside - and there’s plenty of countryside to connect with.
Each suite comes with a super king bed, a spacious lounge and a private terrace, complete with a freestanding outdoor bath.
For those who believe relaxation should be taken extremely seriously, selected Hyllside Spa Suites turn things up another notch, with steam rooms and copper spa baths with jets on the private terrace. There are also a limited number of dog-friendly suites, so four-legged guests can join the Yorkshire adventure, while a fully accessible suite has been designed with comfort and ease in mind.
The appeal isn’t just what’s inside the suites. Aysgarth Falls Hotel sits in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with the spectacular falls themselves providing an impressive natural backdrop. The surrounding countryside is made for walking, exploring and generally working up an appetite, while the hotel’s pub, lounge and restaurant are close enough to provide a very welcome reward afterwards.

And these new sites offer a more luxurious and private option, with plenty of history and character.
The Hyllside Suites are due to open in late 2026, with prices starting from £245 per night. The Hyllside Spa Suites will start from £325.
Sometimes the best way to experience the Yorkshire Dales is to get out and explore it. And sometimes it’s to spend the afternoon in a hot bath on your own terrace, listening to the sound of the countryside and deciding that tomorrow’s walk can wait.
At Aysgarth Falls, you may well find yourself doing both.
EasyJet will stop flying from Leeds Bradford Airport, the airline has announced, affecting flights to five popular destinations.
The budget airline has confirmed that flights from the Yorkshire airport to destinations including Paris and Barcelona will cease in the coming months.
EasyJet currently also operate routes to Belfast, Malaga, and Palma, whisking travellers from Leeds to sunnier climes and city breaks.
In a statement, EasyJet confirmed that it will pull out of Leeds Bradford Airport fully on 5 January, 2027.
They said: "Following a review of our routes from Leeds Bradford Airport, we have made the decision to no longer operate flights from the airport after 5 January.
"Our focus is on maintaining and developing routes which prove most popular with customers.
"We value the relationship we have built with Leeds Bradford Airport, and we always keep options for our network under review, with the aim of providing more choice and connectivity where we see demand."
They have stressed that flights will continue to operate as normal until 5 January.
Eight other airlines currently fly from LBA, including Ryanair and Jet2.
Light Night Leeds announces major changes for 2026, and dazzling new theme

Light Night Leeds has announced some changes to this year's glittering light festival, along with an exciting new theme.
For the first time in its history, the beloved, free light trail will take place during half term, making it more accessible than ever to families across West Yorkshire.
The streets will be filled with projections, immersive artworks, and light installations across two nights - 28 and 29 October.
Happily, that also means it will fall a week after the clocks have gone back, which means the full programme can benefit from the darker evenings and begin from 6pm.
Leeds City Council has now revealed the theme for its 2026 edition of Light Night, which will be centred around tales of the city's past and future.
With the theme 'A City Speaks…', this year's Light Night will form part of Leeds 400, marking 400 years since Leeds was granted its first Royal Charter by King Charles I.
Contemporary art installations like performances and projections across city landmarks will explore the stories, people and places that have shaped Leeds over the past four centuries.
Familiar streets and buildings will be totally transformed for two very special evenings, with more than 40 artworks to discover.

Last year, Light Night Leeds attracted more than 200,000 visitors to the city.
The full programme for 2026 is set to be announced at the end of September.
Councillor Salma Arif, Leeds City Council’s deputy leader and executive member for economy, said: "Light Night Leeds really shows off our city in the best light each year, bringing thousands of people together to enjoy hugely impressive projections and immersive experiences.
"The event is so important for the city, helping to establish Leeds as a cultural destination while making art accessible to everyone.
"The move into October half term, when the evenings are darker and children are off school, will make it easier for even more families to experience everything Light Night Leeds has to offer.
"It's wonderful to see an event that has been such an important part of Leeds since 2005 also play a key role in the Leeds 400 celebrations, using contemporary creativity to explore our past while looking towards our future."
Light Night Leeds 2026 takes place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, from 6pm to 9.30pm.
