Dyson has just released a teaser of its newest invention, and it's so futuristic and, frankly, weird, that the company has been forced to clarify it's not playing a prank on us.
The new product - a wearable air purifier that also doubles up as a pair of noise-cancelling headphones - has left customers wondering if the tech company is pulling an early April Fools' trick on them.
Although we are precariously close to that time of year, apparently they're not.
The business has insisted that the Dyson Zone is legitimate, reports The Manc, and will ‘supply a continuous stream of purified air to your nose and mouth’.

Dyson’s first foray into wearable technology is a set of air-purifying headphones that promises to capture city pollution while cancelling out unwanted noise pollution.
The launch today states that the product has gone through six years of development.
Early prototypes apparently featured a snorkel-like mouthpiece and a backpack to hold the motor and inner workings.
The end result features a visor-like mouthpiece that delivers two jets of airflow without contact with the face.
News of the Dyson Zone has received a mixed reaction online, ranging from complaints about its appearance to concerns about its safety amid a global respiratory infection pandemic.
YouTuber Naomi Wen said: “Ok here’s a technical breakdown of why the @Dyson Zone™ Air-Purifying Headphones aka. the Snot Cannon aka. the Wearable SuperSpreader Event is such a staggeringly bad idea and a significant danger to public health if it is allowed to be sold.”
She then launched into a full thread about the spread of aerosol particles and said that the Zone is ‘worse than no mask at all’ because of the way it projects breath outward.
Other people on Twitter think that Dyson has hit send on its April Fools’ joke a few days early, with one person saying: “Well played Mr Dyson it’s only the 30th march going off early does Dyson have a product for that #AprilFoolsDay.”
Someone else wrote: “What the eff Dyson? you missed an opportunity here. Should have made a Darth Vader Mask, that at least would have had more appeal than this Hanibal Lecter is listening to music stuff.”
And, much as many did with Dyson’s other products like the Airwrap, someone commented: “I’ll wait for the knock offs or cheaper versions from somewhere else….not gonna pay three hundred bucks to strap a vacuum to my head.”

Millions of train tickets are currently on sale for just £2 each, as Northern has brought its popular ‘Flash Sale’ back for 2026.
A whopping FOUR MILLION of them, to be exact.
For the last couple of years, the rail operator has made life a little easier for train travellers by giving them the chance to grab one of several million tickets for much cheaper than normal – and now, with the cost of living crisis sadly continuing to make its impact felt, Northern has decided to kick off the autumn season by slashing prices once again.
It means that millions of people will have the opportunity to make a cut-price journey across the north of England before the end of October is out.
With the company’s regular ‘Flash Sales’ having gone onto become a, somewhat, legendary event at this point, it probably comes as no shock that you’ll need to act fast if you want to be in with a chance of get your hands tickets.

Tickets went live today and the sale runs for three days, closing on Friday 4 September – with tickets valid for travel between 9 September and 23 October 2026.
A list of routes where tickets will be available can also be found using the ‘cheap fare finder’ tool on the Northern website here.

“With millions of tickets available for just £2 each, our Flash Sale will make the railway even more appealing, and we believe it will inspire everyone to explore everything our fantastic region has to offer, from bustling cities to countryside and stunning coastlines.
“Customers will need to book early to avoid disappointment, as once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
Tickets are available to buy on Northern’s app, online, at ticket offices, and on ticket machines at stations managed by Northern.

You can watch some of the year’s biggest blockbusters for just £4 this weekend.
