The announcement comes weeks before Live At Leeds summer portion at Temple Newsam.
The festival known for spotting the ‘next big thing’ years in advance is back for its 17th year, and the lineup certainly hasn’t disappointed.
For anyone unfamiliar with the event: the bi-annual festival takes place every summer and autumn, and brings a handpicked selection of up-and-coming artists to the city for a single day of music. Whilst the summer season brings crowds to Temple Newsam, the ‘In The City’ version is spread across the city centre and sees venues as far as Hyde Park and Woodhouse getting involved – and it’s a lot of fun.
With a new date of Saturday 16 November 2024, the city-wide festival has today announced its return, confirming the likes of Leeds Beckett SU, LUU Stylus, Brudenell Social Club, The Wardrobe, Belgrave Music Hall, Headrow House, Hyde Park Book Club, Oporto, The Key Club and Northern Guitars to come together to host artists big and small, from midday til midnight.
For 2024, the festival welcomes art-rockers Everything Everything, indie wunderkind Alfie Templeman, Liverpool alt-rock quartet Stone and Earlestown’s underground indie success story The K’s as part of its headline acts, as well as renowned UK grime MC Casisdead, Leeds’ own and recent Northern Music Award winner English Teacher, and plenty more.

Joe Hubbard (Live At Leeds festival promoter) said: “News just in…we’re over the moon to be announcing the first names for Live At Leeds In The City this year on what will be a brand new November date for the festival – exciting times! That 2024 will be the festival’s 17th edition feels like a remarkable feat in and of itself, but what makes it all the more worthwhile for us is the opportunity to showcase some of the local artists currently making waves among the more established acts on the lineup.
“Emblematic of this are English Teacher, who I was lucky enough to witness receive ‘Best Newcomer’ at the inaugural Northern Music Awards last week; to have them on the bill amongst the likes of Everything Everything and Alfie Templeman alongside ace fellow Leeds bands such as L’Objectif and Van Houten is a really special thing. Roll on November!”
Van Houten said: “We’ve seen so many bands that we love come through Live at Leeds so it kind of feels like a rite of passage for any Leeds band. We’re really looking forward to playing and seeing what’s on offer from local and national bands”
