The British singer-songwriter will be performing at Millennium Square this summer, as only one of two summer dates in the UK.
The northern singer has been performing for over 40 years, both as a solo artist and as the lyricist and singer for The Smiths.
Morrissey has only announced two UK dates this summer, one of which will see the Meat Is Murder singer headlining Leeds’ Millennium Square on Wednesday 12 July.
The setlist will span through the ages, with a whopping 16 albums in the UK Top Ten to choose from, plus an additional nine UK Top Ten albums from his time as part of Manchester band The Smiths.
An artist that has truly withstood the test of time, Morrissey broke The Beatles record for selling out the Hollywood Bowl in 1991, voted the second Greatest Living British Icon as voted by viewers of BBC Television in 2006, with Sir David Attenborough first and Sir Paul McCartney third and in 2007, Morrissey was voted The Greatest Northern Male in a nationwide newspaper poll.
Those unable to get to Leeds for this gig will only have one other shot to see the singer-songwriter this summer. Morrissey is also performing at London’s Crystal Palace Park on Sunday 9 July 2023.
The open-air standing event will see critically-acclaimed Manchester band The Slow Readers Club support for a night of true Mancunian hits.
Morrissey joins a jam-packed line-up for this summer at Millennium Square. At present, the following acts have been confirmed to perform at the outdoor Leeds venue as part of Sounds of the City and Summer Sessions series throughout the month:
