A street in Leeds has been renamed in support of the England football team ahead of the Euros, which kick off today.
What was Bremner Boulevard inside Trinity Leeds has been temporarily renamed Southgate Street in a symbolic move that hopes to both show support and bring the England team good luck as the tournament gets on its way.
Football fans can visit and get a selfie with the sign, which will remain up until July 11th when the Euro’s tournament comes to an end.
Fans can also grab an official Euro 2020 football at the new Decathlon store at Trinity Leeds.
“We are sending our best wishes to the England team for this tournament and hoping we can push ahead and make it further than we did in the 2016 Euros,” said David Maddison, centre director at Trinity Leeds.
“And if England do lift the trophy, we might have to make some more permanent street renaming changes here at the shopping centre – here’s hoping.”
