A carpentry boss in Pudsey has been praised online after offering to give his whole team Monday off after the Euro’s final.
Brothers Curtis and Mason Sidebottom, who own a carpentry business based just out of Pudsey, have received some serious attention online after offering to give their team a paid holiday this coming Monday.
The duo, who employ eight people, will be giving everyone a day’s leave following England’s crunch match against Italy.
Apparently, Curtis came to the decision after speaking to a member of staff who had been in tears after the Three Lions victory against Denmark.
Rather than having people phone in sick, which he said was “inevitable, he felt it was “only right” to give the team an extra day’s paid holiday.
After all, he reasons, “it’s something that’s not happened in a long time for England it’s only right to give the lads an extra days holiday on Monday.”
Locals have been calling Craig the “best boss” in Leeds after hearing about the decision.
One said: “You’re a superstar!”
Football fans are closer than they have been in a long time to see their team win big at a national tournament.
Whilst the England women’s football team made it to the Euro’s finals in both 1984 and 2009, the men’s team has not managed to get this far in a major tournament since 1966 – hence the excitement currently sweeping the country.
Sunday will be a big moment for the young England team, who have so far surprassed every challenge that has come their way to bring an exciting summer of football to the country at a time when spirits really needed lifting.
We’ll be waiting for the result with bated breath.
