Netflix’s newest crime thriller is being filmed in Yorkshire this month

Netflix film crews will return to Yorkshire again this month to film a new crime thriller series.

Filming for Bodies is set to take place in Hull Old Town, as well as in Leeds, Bradford, Grimsby and Rotherham, according to a casting call.

The new thriller is an adaptation of Si Spencer’s mind-bending graphic novel of the same name.

It will follow four detectives from four different eras, all investigating the same murder in London.

The streets of Hull Old Town will double up as the capital city for the eight-part series.

It’s the latest in a string of hit shows to be filmed around Yorkshire, with Marvel (and Samuel L. Jackson) recently pitching up in Leeds to film scenes for Secret Invasion.

Filming in Hull for Bodies is expected to take place in the Old Town this month, with regeneration work on pause until June 27, Hull Live reports.

Chris Hordley, production liaison and development manager at Screen Yorkshire, said: “Hull’s Old Town is a true gem in Yorkshire and the Humber’s filming location portfolio.

“Its beautifully preserved period streets and historic architecture are a big pull for the producers and directors we work with.

“This has landed major film and TV projects from Netflix, BBC, ITV and Film 4 in the city. Hull is the perfect on-screen double for period London – when we combine this with Yorkshire’s talented crew, regional content funding, a growing studio infrastructure and film-friendly credentials we have the perfect package to attract high-calibre productions to the region.”
