The First Bus service in Leeds has announced it will be making some temporary changes to its schedule in order to cope with a national bus driver shortage.
Aims ing to minimise passenger disruption, the bus service has announced that its “high frequency” services have been slightly reduced in order to “balance the needs of customers.”
Eighteen services are affected, including the 56, 42, 4 and 4F. Instead of running every ten minutes, these will now run every twelves minutes instead.
The First Bus website reads: “As is being experienced across the bus industry, transport and many public service businesses, the nationwide lack of drivers is currently placing pressure on some of our services.
“To manage this and maintain reliability and connections we are introducing temporary changes to some high-frequency routes.
“Our new timetables have been adjusted to balance the travel needs of all our customers and minimise disruption.
“Thanks for your patience and understanding while we overcome this short-term staffing situation.”
