Local Leeds restaurant is giving out free Christmas dinners to those ‘who need it most’

“We know how difficult this time of year can be for people who are either on their own or maybe housebound and unable to visit family for whatever reason. We also appreciate that this year has been very tough for a lot of people for a number of reasons.”

It’s the most wonderful time of year.

But it’s not always for everyone.

That’s why a local Rothwell restaurant has decided to donate and deliver thirty hot Christmas dinners ‘for those who need it most’.

This isn’t the first time Salute at The White Swan has made headlines for its kind-hearted nature. The local cafe and bar has gone viral twice for sharing the stories of two groups of polite teenagers, each racking up thousands of likes on each occasion.

Announcing the news on Facebook, the restaurant said:

“Let Salute Bring Some Christmas Cheer To Your Door This Year with a Free Xmas dinner.

“We know how difficult this time of year can be for people who are either on their own or maybe housebound and unable to visit family for whatever reason. We also appreciate that this year has been very tough for a lot of people for a number of reasons.

“This year, Salute would like to donate and deliver (all free of charge) 30 delicious hot Xmas dinners with all the trimmings and a traditional pudding for those who need it most.

“It’s our way of giving something back to the local community during these challenging and for some, lonely times. No catches, no gimmicks, we just want to help those who need it most.

“If you know anyone that would benefit and appreciate a delicious free Xmas dinner, then please get in contact with details and we will arrange the rest.

“It may be an elderly relative or neighbour that you just want to try and help in spreading some Xmas cheer.

“Please note that it is for 1 meal per person and a maximum of 2 meals per household and must be within the LS26 postcode as our staff are kindly donating their own family time free of charge to deliver these meals.
