Jimmy Mack’s in Trinity Kitchen is the place to go for mouthwatering tacos, loaded fries and crispy fried chicken.
This independent street food kitchen, run by head chef James Mackenzie, are masters of over fire cooking; their concept being ‘low, slow and smoked’.
Here you can expect succulent, smokey barbecued meat in a range of dishes influenced by years of travelling and exploring different cuisines from around the world. With locality and freshness at the heart of the produce used, Jimmy Mack’s aims to bring you a creative menu designed with big flavours.
Menu items include hickory-smoked beef brisket tacos, house rub pulled pork collar tacos and crispy southern fried chicken with a bourbon BBQ sauce. There’s even a vegan, BBQ oyster mushroom taco for their meat-free customers who are still after their taco fix.
The showstopper for us though, is their 8-hour birria lamb leg tacos topped with pink pickled onions and a pomegranate salsa. Birria is a dish originating in Mexico, combining slow cooked meat with an array of spices and chilli to create a deliciously savoury stew which tastes even more heavenly placed inside a fresh tortilla. It is a dish which can be hard in the to find in the UK, so we urge you to try them from Jimmy Mack’s whilst you still can.

They dip their tacos in the meat juices (aka liquid gold), crisp them up in a pan and top them with melted cheese. They are then served alongside a special pot of gravy so you can dip yours to your hearts content. These are guaranteed to be the juiciest, most succulent tacos you’ve ever had.
Sound good? Well you best be quick. Jimmy Macks are high in demand and won’t be sticking around for long. You can find them in Trinity Kitchen until the 24th May 2022, just follow the inviting aroma of their smoker and you’ll be sure to find them.
