McDonalds will be giving out free food at Leeds Festival this year

This weekend saw the start of the bank holiday season with both Live At Leeds: In The Park and Slam Dunk Festival taking over Temple Newsam – and with the sun shining and the tunes pounding from speakers across the city, it’s got many of us thinking about the crescendo of the season, August bank holiday weekend.

Leeds Festival has long been known as the biggest music festival our city has to offer, but this weekend they announced more information about some of the foodie offerings that will be available to festival goers.

Specifically in the form of salted, deep fried treats from Ronald McDonald himself.

Fast food chain McDonalds has announced that it will be joining the plethora of food and drink vans that serve the 80,000-odd festival goers each year, and giving out free fries from its own dedicated van.

Announcing the news on Facebook yesterday with a short teaser clip, Leeds Festival said ” Free Fries 🤝 Good vibesMcDonald’s is coming to Leeds Festival”

Leeds Festival 2023 will be happening over the bank holiday weekend between Friday 25 August and Sunday 27 August for those who want to pencil it into their diary.

81 acts have so far for the three day event, including Tyneside-favourite Sam Fender, pop megastar Billie Eilish and rock legends, The Killers. Other headliners include Oxford rockers Foals, Scottish singer songwriter Lewis Capaldi and American pop band Imagine Dragons; Leeds’ own Yard Act, as well as up-and-coming talent from the likes of Mimi Webb, Bakar, Arlo Parks, Tom Odell and Easy Life.
