UK hip-hop, garage and grime icons The Streets have announced a huge outdoor gig in Leeds next year for a special album anniversary tour.
One of the most influential bands in the space, having inspired countless others in adjacent genres over the past couple of decades, The Streets are one of the biggest names to ever play the historical landmark turned live music venue.
Revealing a brand new UK tour in line with a special album anniversary, which features just a handful of domestic dates, we're counting ourselves very lucky to be on the list.
NEW // Garage icons The Streets (@mikeskinnerltd) are set to take over a BUNCH of concert series across the UK this summer, where they'll be playing 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' in full for the first time EVER!
Set to play the stunning Kirkstall Abbey just north west of Leeds city centre, the 46-year-old frontman and legendary British producer is bringing vocalist Kevin Mark Trail, guitarist Rob Harvey, and a number of other regular session players along for the ride.
The tour itself is to mark 20 years since the release of their seminal second album, A Grand Don't Come For Free, which remains arguably their most important work.
An incredibly well-received follow-up to their already impressive debut, Original Pirate Material, the much-loved 2004 LP is set to be played in full for the first time EVER.
Speaking on the milestone, Skinner said:"A Grand Donβt Come For Free was a moment in time β for me, and for everyone who grew up with it. I wrote it as a story from beginning to end, even studying screenwriting to shape it and without the faintest idea how people would react.
"Weβve been looking for something bold to do with the live show, and we landed here: some tracks have never been played live, others havenβt surfaced in years.
"Itβs a new challenge to bring the whole journey to life on stage, but I have an incredible band, and we always give everything every night. So Iβm certain weβll make finding out what happened to that thousand quid a party every night."

MIles Kane is back in Leeds and he is better than ever before.
βGood evening Leeds, how the f*** are we?"
Everyone's favourite scouser came onto the stage wearing a perfectly fitted leather jacket, and it's safe to say the crowd roared.
It's been a few years since Iβve been in a Miles Kane crowd, the last time I saw him he was supporting Blossoms at Millenium Square back in 2023 and my gosh it's good to be back.

His whole energy is just utterly infectious and makes him a complete joy to watch. Iβve always been a Miles Kane fan and I just love where he's taken his 2025 album βSunlight in The Shadowsβ.
We were blessed with a whole stream of songs from over the years, my personal favourite, βRearrangeβ wasΒ played second and was such a treat. Kane got the crowd to sing back to him βlet it out, let it out, let it all outβ which soon made me realise you were standing side by side with true fans.Β
Throughout the setlist we heard bangers from over the years and mid-set Miles screams out βLeeds on a Thursday, come onβ and to say it was grey and very wet outside, we all definitely brought the energy.Β

Supporting Miles on his 2026 tour is Villanelle, you know Gene Gallagherβs band? Some could say nepo-baby but we say, when they were doing their own Leeds dates, they were class. Such a grungy, punk twist theyβve got and it's safe to say Gene has the Gallagher stance behind the mic.
As the set drew to a close Kane said βthank you so much and donβt forget who you are" which brought us to his last three songs, βDonβt Forget Who You Areβ, βSunlight In The Shadowsβ and the ultimate bopper and most played song on Spotify βCome Closerβ which just never, ever gets old.Β
In the words of Carrie Bradshaw 'and just like that' my first gig at Project House (canβt believe its taken me so long) was over.
As an overall venue, Project House really had it all, Kirkstall brews, a spacious cool environment and really fantastic acoustics.
And it was time to walk back to the train station along the canal on a lovely Miles Kane high and debrief the evening. Hopefully see you soon Miles, rather than leaving it three years again.
