Soulful singing sensation Olivia Dean has set the UK music scene alight by announcing a number of intimate shows up and down the nation, including one right here in Leeds.
The fast-rising singer-songwriter, who blends everything from pop and jazz to neo-soul as well as R'n'B, is one of the best and up-and-coming solo artists in Britain right now, with her highly anticipated sophomore album, The Art of Loving, set to release at the start of September.
As well as releasing her smash hit new single 'Nice To Each Other', the 26-year-old recently delighted even more music fans by joining Sam Fender on stage in London for a live twist on his track 'Rein Me In', which was instantly adored by millions and has now been shared as an official studio version.
Safe to say she's flying high right now, and the second LP isn't even out yet, which makes this small handful of gigs even more special and tickets super sought-after.
Revealing just seven pared-back shows across the country, Olivia said on her socials: "The art of loving in person! We’re doing some intimate shows, playing some songs acoustically and talking about making the album", which is due to release on Friday, 26 September.
Partnering up with music shop chain and independent artist champions Rough Trade for the event, she's set to play the much-loved Wardrobe here in Leeds city centre.
Better still, local indie champions Crash Records will be helping host the event, helping supply the pre-order album bundles that come along with admission.
With the debut single already out, along with an already viral music video and accompanying dance alongside it, there's plenty of excitement surrounding this project.
Imagine seeing Olivia Dean and all her fans doing this routine at a venue as intimate as The Wardrobe - the stuff of dreams.
We think we speak for pretty much everyone when we say that not only are we excited to hear The Art of Loving once it's out, but to hear it in this special acoustic format will be unreal. She certainly didn't disappoint the last time we saw her live.
Playing smaller acoustic album launch shows is nothing new, but they are sometimes the only chance fans will get to hear their favourite musicians play their songs in such a way, so Deano die-hards are understandably going to be scrambling for these tickets.
Once again, her second album is available to pre-order now, and bundle tickets for her show on Sunday, 7 September, go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, 5 June) from 10am.

The BAFTA-winning hit show draws in thousands of viewers each week, and now producers are on the look-out for ‘intrepid duos’ of all ages who reckon they’re ready to take a step into the unknown, and embark on an epic race across land and sea for the next seried – and that includes Yorkshire residents.
With applications for the next series of the massively-popular show now open, nomadic people from Yorkshire are being encouraged to take part.
On a limited budget and away from the luxuries of modern technology and conveniences, those lucky applicants selected to take part in the next series will get the chance to experience life in some of the world’s most beautiful and remote locations.

Navigating their way across thousands of miles, they’ll travel through spectacular scenery and dynamic cities, visit ancient wonders, learn local customs, and take part in time-honoured traditions.
But, as producers are keen to point out, ‘the physical journey is only half of the story’. That’s because, as the contestants take on the challenge of travelling across the world, the greatest thing they’ll discover along the way could actually be about themselves and one another.
Putting out a UK-wide casting call on the BBC website this week, producers Studio Lambert wrote: “We are now accepting applications for the next series of Race Across the World. This experience is open to all, whether you’re a seasoned traveller or total novice.
“We want to hear what undertaking a trip like this would mean to you, and with a cash prize at stake, what lengths you would go to to win.”

Now well over a decade into its success and more than 200 Las Vegas shows, ‘The Empire Strips Back’ made its long-awaited transatlantic debut earlier this year.
Getting away at London’s Riverside Studios from May and enjoying a run until this past August, the comedy-driven twist on the classic Star Wars stories and beloved sci-fi characters was an instant hit with us Brits.
It started in Australia way back in 2011 and has gone not only to tour across Europe, but land a coveted residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Nevada.
Now set to seek out new padawans and storm-strippers all over the cosmos, and by that we mean the UK, ‘The Empire Strips Back: Burlesque Parody’ is coming to Manchester.
Set to land at TESTBED in February from from Thursday 12 to Sunday 22 specifically, we cannot wait to see how this goes down with Northern crowds.
