Fans of Japanese food are in for a proper treat, because Leeds is about to get a brand new ramen bar.
Called House of Fu, it’s due to open in the city next month serving up their own authentic combinations of umami-rich broths, noodles and other fillings.
There’ll be a core range of ramen on offer here, as well as a handful of specials, with plenty of options for vegans on the menu.
They’ve already teased out their ‘green ramen’, which will be one of the headline plant-based bowls on offer here. Filled with gorgeous ingredients like kohlrabi chashu, sapporo noodles and super deep burnt garlic oil, it’s evident a lot of care and attention has gone into putting this menu together.
They’ve also been working with local pottery studio Sunken to handcraft every single ramen bowl for their new opening.
By the looks of their Instagram, House of Fu’s founders have spent a good amount of time eating their way around all the best ramen spots in Tokyo so we don’t doubt the food here is going to be done to a high standard.
As well as serving ramen, the new restaurant will also have a selection of specials and “soon to be classics” – including dumplings, small plates and sides like their fried cauliflower with gochujang hot sauce, house shichimi spice blend, sesame and QP vegan mayo.
House of Fu isn’t exactly new in Leeds, having previously hosted a range of pop-up supper clubs and other events around the city.
Prior to the pandemic, in 2019 they announced plans to open a. ramen bar, izikaya and karaoke rooms in Briggate but this, unfortunately, did not come to fruition. So we expect there will be plenty of House of Fu fans queueing up when they finally open their doors at the new site in July.
Currently, the restaurant is keeping details of its new location and opening date close to its chest. Due to be revealed in the coming days, keep your eyes on their Instagram for further updates.
