Fans of Japanese food are in for a proper treat, because Leeds is about to get a brand new ramen bar.
Called House of Fu, it's due to open in the city next month serving up their own authentic combinations of umami-rich broths, noodles and other fillings.
There'll be a core range of ramen on offer here, as well as a handful of specials, with plenty of options for vegans on the menu.
House of Fu's 'Green Ramen' - Shiitake dashi, Spinach, Sapporo Noodles, Kohlrabi chashu, Shiitake mushrooms, Pak choy, Spring onion, Super deep burnt garlic oil, Roast tomato
They've already teased out their 'green ramen', which will be one of the headline plant-based bowls on offer here. Filled with gorgeous ingredients like kohlrabi chashu, sapporo noodles and super deep burnt garlic oil, it's evident a lot of care and attention has gone into putting this menu together.
They've also been working with local pottery studio Sunken to handcraft every single ramen bowl for their new opening.
By the looks of their Instagram, House of Fu's founders have spent a good amount of time eating their way around all the best ramen spots in Tokyo so we don't doubt the food here is going to be done to a high standard.
As well as serving ramen, the new restaurant will also have a selection of specials and "soon to be classics" - including dumplings, small plates and sides like their fried cauliflower with gochujang hot sauce, house shichimi spice blend, sesame and QP vegan mayo.

House of Fu isn't exactly new in Leeds, having previously hosted a range of pop-up supper clubs and other events around the city.
Prior to the pandemic, in 2019 they announced plans to open a. ramen bar, izikaya and karaoke rooms in Briggate but this, unfortunately, did not come to fruition. So we expect there will be plenty of House of Fu fans queueing up when they finally open their doors at the new site in July.
Currently, the restaurant is keeping details of its new location and opening date close to its chest. Due to be revealed in the coming days, keep your eyes on their Instagram for further updates.

Co-founder Sam Grainger, inspired by countless trips to Mexico, says: “Mexico is alive with passionate artisans and cooks, mastering everything from street tacos to regional delicacies. It’s a world where traditions blend and evolve and we’ve built that ethos into the heart of both Madre and Salon Madre.”
Madre Leeds will open soon and you can even grab yourself a free margarita by signing up to their newsletter here.
We’ll keep you up to date with their opening times but for now, we'll see you at Salon Madre for a boogie, margarita and game of pool next week.
Award-winning Leeds restaurant announces shock closure just months after opening
Clementine Hall
Emba in Leeds will be closing its doors with the owner blaming rising costs and pressure on the hospitality sector.
Back in April last year, one of Leeds' top restaurants The Owl closed its doors.
Run by renowned Chef Liz Cottam, The Owl was reimagine into Emba - a trendy restaurant tat bridged 'the gap between cosy bar and vibrant dining room'.
To open Emba, Cottam opened a Crowdfunder where supporters would be awarded with prizes such as VIP dinners and merch depending on how much they donated.
But sadly just months after opening, Emba is to close permanently.
Cottam confirmed the sad news with a statement shared with customers over the weekend, saying she was completely "heartbroken".
She said: “This is no longer the right time to own independent restaurants like Emba,” she said. “Under the current conditions they cannot survive and the recent budget confirmed what so many of us already knew: no meaningful help is coming for hospitality.
"The experience of being here and the harsh financial reality of running a business here no longer stack up.
"Being award winning, popular, admired and loved no longer means profitable and as an industry if we’re honest most of us have not truly been okay since Covid."
She signed off the statement promising to return to the restaurant world, she said: “What I do know is this, I am not done. I will keep cooking, keep creating and keep finding ways to do the thing I love.”
