There’s so much more than Leeds Fest going on this summer.
The first official post-Covid summer is upon us and whilst festivals were given the green light last year, there were enough last-minute cancellations, policy changes and not to mention the criticisms of ‘superspreading events’ that prevented the industry from having a proper run.
This year, festivals are back with bigger line-ups than ever before, and plenty of the UK’s best live music fests are in or a short journey from Leeds.
You can find all of your additional alternatives this summer, plus all of the information you need to make a decision about which festival(s) you’ll attend this year.
Leeds Festival
Friday 26 August – Sunday 28 August 2022 | Bramham Park, Leeds
The lineup includes Yorkshire favourites, Arctic Monkeys. The indie icons have been slowly announcing their European tour dates over the past few weeks and have even rumoured that their new album will be released in the new year. This will be the third time that the band have headlined Reading and Leeds Festival.
Arctic Monkeys will follow the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Wolf Alice, Fontaines DC and Enter Shikari on the main stages, with many more set to be announced in the lead up to the 2022 festival. Additional artists appearing across the weekend include: Arddee, Chloe Moriondo, Denzel Curry, Hybrid Minds, Pale Waves, Jack Harlow, Jxdn, Kid Brunswick, Madison Beer, Tai Verdes, The Lathumas, Wilkinson, Circa Waves, Fever 333, Griff, Joy Crookes, PinkPantheress and Wallows.
Headliners: Arctic Monkeys, Dave, Bring Me The Horizon, Rage Against The Machine, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Willow (Smith), Beabadoobee, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, All Time Low, The Lathums and The DMA’s.
Tickets: Weekend tickets for Leeds Festival have now sold out. Only Friday and Saturday day tickets are available and the festival website is warning customers to watch out for touts and scams, use the Leeds Festival website to purchase yours.

Slam Dunk Festival North
Friday 3 June 2022 | Temple Newsam, Leeds
Slam Dunk Festival North is back for another year and there’s a huge line-up to look forward to. Set in the heart of Temple Newsam, one of Leeds’ best known festival venues is the hosting a one day set of metal, emo, punk and ska music from some of the industry’s biggest names.
The one-day festival kicks off on the bank holiday Friday, with live performances across five stages at Temple Newsam.
Headliners: Neck Deep, Sum41 and ALEXISONFIRE, amongst other exciting names (see below for the full list of acts).
Tickets: Tickets start at £69, but you’re likely to get a ticket priced over £85 as the date gets looms closer. Those looking for VIP entry tickets can pay £129 for entry to the VIP Guest area, VIP toilets and guest bar. All tickets can be purchased from the Slam Dunk Festival website.
Live at Leeds
Saturday 4 June 2022 | Temple Newsam, Leeds
The popular festival is usually held each year across the inner-city centre, with artists playing at a range of Leeds venues, but it was pushed back until October this year due to pandemic-related restrictions. As a result, the Live at Leeds team have decided that the multi-venue traditional Live at Leeds will be hosted in October 2022 and an outdoor one-day festival will take place in its usual May spot.
Joining the hefty line-up of rising Indie headliners: Alfie Templeman, The Pigeon Detectives, Cassia, Laruran Hibberd, Tribes and Dream Wife have all been confirmed to perform alongside The MYsterines, Kid Kapichi, Coach Party and Zuzu.
Headliners: The Vaccines, Holly Humberstone, Sports Team and The Snuts will be joining the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Arlo Parks, Easy Life and Sea Girls at Temple Newsam over the Queen’s Jubilee weekend. Nothing But Thieves were originally set to play but has since had to cancel and their headline slot will be replaced by The Vaccines on Saturday 4 June.
Tickets: Live at Leeds Tickets are now available on the Live at Leeds website for the 2022 one-day festival, with general admission priced at £60.50.

Made in Leeds
Saturday 4 June 2022 | Church Fenton Airfield, Selby, Leeds
During the Bank Holiday Jubilee weekend, Made in Leeds Festival will return for another year of live music and entertainment from the city’s finest homegrown acts.
Local owner of Dollhouse and newly-opened club-dining experience, Playroom, Tom Zanetti will be returning to his home city for a Made in Leeds set.
Craig David’s legendary set, Craig David Presents TS5 is will be live from Leeds during the bank holiday weekend too. David started the project in 2012 after the artist hosted a series of parties for friends in his penthouse apartment.
Headliners: Craig David Presents TS5, Holy Goof, Nathan Dawe, Marc Kinchen, Hannah Wants, Low Steppa and Tom Zanetti.
Tickets: Made in Leeds has sold out of its first release tickets. Prices now start at £30.25 but will increase to up to £66 as the tiers sell out. Students can grab a ticket for just £16.50 and there’s a 3-for-2 deal too on Skiddle: bargain.

Newsam Park
Saturday 9 July 2022 | Temple Newsam, Leeds
If you were lucky enough to make it to Newsam Park’s debut festival, you’ll know it was next level. So naturally, as soon as the last beat finished, our thoughts turned to the 2022 season, which is promised to be even bigger and better than the last. On top of the exciting headline acts, deeper house will come from Dan Shake and Chaos in the CBD, there will be spaced-out sounds from flying Dutchman Chris Stussy and no-frills beats from Djoko as well as plenty of goodness from local residents Annie Errez, Bobby O’Donnell, Foz, Reeshy and Sara Garvey.
Headliners: Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Mall Grab, Jayda G, Folamour, Dan Shake, Chaos in the CBD, Djoko, Chris Stussy

80s Classical
Friday 22 July 2022 | Millennium Square, Leeds city centre
If you love to head down to the club on 80s night but would rather party outdoors than in a packed out nightclub, the 80s Classical is the summer festival you don’t want to miss.
Taking place on Friday 22 July 2022 in Millenium Square, the one-day festival will also see Leeds own Orchestra of Opera North perform an exclusive set of chart-topping hits. The band have are 60 members strong and are all looking forward to the opportunity to perform live once more.
Headliners: Kim Wilde, Belinda Carlisle, Johnny Hates Jazz, Hue and Cry, Denise Pearson, and The Orchestra of Opera North.

Brighter Days
Friday 12 August 2022 | Temple Newsam, Leeds
Brighter Days Festival is a new Leeds-based day festival that aims to bring the best of Ibiza to Temple Newsam this summer. The event is a duel-location festival, with one day fest at Temple Newsam in Leeds on Friday 12 August 2022, whilst another will take place in Herrington in the North East on Friday 8 July 2022. The escapist location of Temple Newsam, is well acquainted with festivals and its rolling green park surrounded by woodland that hosts some of the North’s most essential festivals makes it the perfect location for Brighter Days to debut.
Headliners: Faithless (DJ), Kings of Tomorrow feat Julie McKnight, Roger Sanchez, Fat Tony, Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago, Angel Lee, Dave Robinson, Kirsten and plenty more.

BBC Radio 2
Saturday 17 September – Sunday 18 September 2022 | Temple Newsam Park, Leeds
Having only recently been announced over the radio, BBC Radio 2 Live, formerly known as Live in Hyde Park, has few released details. The musical acts are yet to be announced, but there should be at least 20 different artists covering a range of genres including pop, rock, folk, country and indie throughout the weekend to choose from, each hosted by different BBC presenters.
Headliners: Unknown but previous headline acts have included Gary Barlow, Kylie Minogue and James Blunt.

Mint Festival
Saturday 10 September 2022 | Temple Newsam, Leeds
Returning for another year after a huge comeback festival in 2021: Mint Festival is taking live house, techno and electronica music to a whole new level. Expect twelve hours on non-stop tunes with pyrotechnics breaking up each act with explosive show-stopper production visually.
But there’s so much more than music going on here. Expect easy access bars to provide the drinks, adrenaline-fuelled fairground ride and a whole host of foodie options that challenge the typical greasy burger van expectation with healthy options aplenty.
Headliners: 2021 favourites like Darius Syrossian and Eats Everything will all return to the stage along with Elliot Adamson, Fleur Shore, Friction, Girls Don’t Sync and so much more.
Tickets: Pre-sale tickets go on sale from Tuesday 10 May 2022, allowing you to save up to £40 on the RRP. General sale begins on Thursday 12 May 2022 at midday.

Near Leeds…
There’s so many festivals going on this summer and although there’s a great range in our city, some of the best line-ups will require a bus, train or car journey. Here are our top picks within two hours of Leeds.
Tramlines Festival
Friday 22 July – Sunday 24 July 2022 | Hillborough Park, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Tramlines is truly showing Yorkshire that festival season is back for good this summer. Between Friday 22 July and Sunday 24 July 2022, Tramline-goers will have the opportunity to watch some of the UK’s best musical talent, as well as rising up-and-coming acts before they hit the mainstream.
In addition to the headline acts, James, Declan McKenna, The Vaccines, Sigrid, Self Esteem, Inhaler, The Wombats, Becky Hill, Reverend and the Makers and The Coral are just some of the big names taking to the stage, with smaller acts like Swim School, Coach Party, April and The Goa Express entertaining daytime crowds.
Headliners: Sam Fender, Kasabian, Madness, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Alfie Templeman, Kelis and Scouting for Girls will be joining the already jam-packed lineup.
Tickets: Weekend tickets for the festival have now sold out but day tickets are still available for all days. Tier two tickets start at £60 plus booking fee, but these are likely to get snapped up quickly, so we’d recommend getting your hands on a ticket as soon as you can as Tramlines are now warning 95% of tickets have been sold. Parklife
Saturday 11 June – Sunday 12 June 2022 | Heaton Park, Manchester
The organisers of Parklife, the infamous northern festival at Heaton Park have announced a huge line-up that’s well worth the hour-long journey over to Manchester. The biggest performers around have been confirmed and festival-goers can expect to see the likes of Tyler The Creator, 50 Cent and Megan Thee Stallion on the main stage as headline acts.
The huge festival attracts tens of thousands of music lovers every summer and is one of the biggest dates in Manchester’s cultural calendar. Parklife will be back in Heaton Park in its normal mid-June weekend, after shifting its huge party to September in 2021 due to Coronavirus restrictions. New stages are set to be unveiled this year too.
Headliners: Tyler The Creator, 50 Cent, Megan Thee Stallion, Lewis Capaldi, Chase & Status, Bicep, Jamie XX, Loyle Carner, Central Cee, Campelphat at Arlo Parks.

Meadowfest
Saturday 30 July 2022 | The Talbot Meadow, Malton
Yorkshire’s foodie capital is hosting Meadowfest, a day-long music festival this year. Almost 3000 festival-goers flocked to Malton last year for the musical celebrations, and this year is expected to journey across Yorkshire to the festival. Taking place on Saturday 30 July 2022, indie rock band, The Feeling, will headline the event. Taking to the stage to perform fan favourites such as Fill My Little World and Never Be Lonely, as well as music from their brand-new album, Loss. Hope. Love, which is due for release in May 2022, The Feeling expects to draw crowds from near and far to the day festival after frontman Dan Gillespie joined the West End.
Headliners: The Feeling, HUGE and Hyde Family Jam, with support from Alistair Griffin and New York Brass Band.
