The city has seen some dazzling Christmas decorations this year, but we have to say that this transformation takes the biscuit (or the mince pie).
The Myrtle Tavern in Meanwood is famous for its incredible Christmas decorations, known for transforming their wonderful neighbourhood pub into a themed winter wonderland year after year.
And this year is no exception, with the theme of ‘Chronicles of Narnia’, just walking through the doors here feels like stepping into a fairytale.
Or like stepping into a wardrobe.
As you venture through the grand double doors you’re greeted by the majestic Aslan poised under a snow dusted street lamp.
Take a seat on a cosy sofa and make sure to look up as icy branches and floating pages of the book hang from the ceiling.
It’s safe to say that every single detail has been thought through and trust us, it’s really a sight to behold.
It really is the perfect spot to get cosy, order a few pints and tuck into their Christmas menu – which is just as special as their festive decor.
You can tuck into your classic Christmas dinner with all the trimmings or try something different yet decadent with their homemade Salmon Wellington served with creamy parsley mash.
There’s also a fabulous selection of small plates which are perfect for sharing with friends and family. From the turkey and cranberry meatballs to the deep fried breaded brie wedge with a red pepper and mango sauce, there’s something for everyone to dive into.
So escape the city centre and discover The Myrtle Tavern’s wonderful world of Narnia this Christmas, we assure you you’ll be feeling in festive spirit in no time at all.
