Leeds Christmas Market 2025 to feature more indie traders than ever before as applications open for subsidised stalls

“Our goal is to make the event more accessible to talented traders”

We didn’t want to be saying the ‘C’ word this early in the year either.

Yes, we know it’s only July…but, we promise this is for a good cause.

The famous Leeds Christmas Markets have announced their triumphant return this year, stating that they will be setting up shop in the city from Friday 21 November until Sunday 21 December.

That’s plenty of time to be getting into the festive spirit, don’t you think?

And this year, there’s going to be an even bigger focus on smaller, independent brands and local businesses.

Market Place, the organisers of this year’s highly anticipated Leeds Christmas Market, have announced that trader applications are now open for those wanting to get involved in the market place section over in City Square.

This year brings an exciting opportunity for Crafts and Artisan traders, with rents being subsidised to support independent makers and small creative businesses.

The market is calling on talented, high-quality traders, particularly those offering arts, crafts, and fresh food, to apply now and secure a place at one of Yorkshire’s most beloved festive events.

Nirmal Bassi, Market Manager, said: “Market Place is proud to support small businesses and independent makers. This year, we have introduced an initiative for the Leeds Christmas Market in City Square, offering subsidised rents for craft and artisan stalls.

“Our goal is to make the event more accessible to talented traders while welcoming new, high-quality businesses into the Market Place community.”

Spaces are limited and will be snapped up quick, so submit your application pronto here.

In the meantime, enjoy the sun and we’ll see you in a few months for mulled wine and bratwurst.
