A pub in Leeds is hosting a murder mystery dinner this Halloween and it sounds just the thing for foodies who love to get a little spooky and play detective.
The Mustard Pot pub in Chapel Allerton is known for its delicious food and cask ales, attracting foodies across Leeds for an afternoon or evening soaking up the country chic vibes of this impressive Georgian-style spot.
But it’s also known for another, spookier reason, as locals say it is haunted by not one but two ghosts. Supposedly, one resides behind the bar whilst another likes to hang about in the ladies’ bathroom.
Multiple sightings have been reported of a woman in a long dress sweeping about the pub, and another person reported seeing someone in ‘old fashioned clothes’ behind its bar – which is not old itself, but rather a new extension.
All of this makes it the perfect location for a little Halloween dining if you ask us.
To kick off the Halloween weekend, the pub’s owners have announced they’ll be hosting a special murder mystery dinner here on Friday 29 October.
Serving up a three-course dinner as part of the murder mystery event, diners will immerse themselves in a fantasy world for the night as they attend the pub in honour of a film launch.
Invited to the pub to celebrate the success of fictional character Rod Cuer’s latest blockbusting moving, the Little House of Horrors, whilst there a murder takes place – and it will land to you and your fellow diners to help solve the crime and apprehend the murder in time before they escape into the night.
Taking place from 7 pm, guests are invited to “dress for dinner or dress to scare.”
Announcing the dinner on their Instagram page, the pub said:
“Tonight is party night.
“You are all invited to the pub to celebrate the success of Rod Cuer’s latest blockbusting movie: Little House of Horrors.
“Hopefully with your help the crime can be solved and the murdered apprehended. “
Tickets for the event are priced at £40 per person, which includes your three-course meal and murder mystery experience. There will be a prize for the best-dressed table.
