We already knew it, but now it’s really been confirmed.
Who by you might ask? Well by Guinness themselves.
The iconic brewery have just released their very first Harp Guide, an annual list celebrating the very best pubs across Great Britain that serve an excellent pint of the black stuff and act as true pillars of their communities.
The 2026 guide highlights 25 boozers from across the country, with quite a few racking up in London and in the North West.
There was only one Leeds pub mentioned in the guide, and of course it was none other than Whitelock’s Ale House.
Announcing the exciting news to Instagram, Whitelock’s Ale House said: ‘We’re one of just 35 pubs in the UK to make Guinness’ brand new harp guide!

‘The Harp Guide is the official Guinness GB guide to the best Guinness in the UK, we’re the only pub in Leeds and just one of three in Yorkshire! So if you’re after a perfect pint of the black stuff…you know where to find us.’
Very well deserved Whitelock’s, we’ve spent many an evening sipping away on the stuff on your terrace come rain or shine…which means it must be good.
Other Yorkshire pubs included on the list are the Dog & Partridge and The Grapes over in Sheffield.
Mulligans, Kennedy’s and The Station in Manchester bagged themselves a place on the list as well.
But if you don’t have your favourite pub on the list then don’t worry because from 2026 onwards, drinkers will be able to nominate their own locals for future editions of the Harp Guide.
