Welsh legend Tom Jones has announced he’ll be coming to Leeds for an intimate 400 capacity gig this summer.
Hosted at Brudenell Social Club in Headingley, the gig is in set to take place in honour of Jones’ new album, Surrounded By Time.
The show sold out in record time, with fans desperate to bag a ticket for the exclusive gig.
Known for such tunes as ‘She’s A Lady’, ‘Delilah’ and ‘Sex Bomb’, Jones began his career with a string of top-ten hits in the mid-1960s.
Still going strong today, he’s a bonafide pop legend.
This newest album, though, sees him do something a bit different – putting his own spin on songs by the likes of Bob Dylan, Michael Kiwanuka and The Waterboys.
Those lucky enough to get a ticket will be treated to renditions of some of his personal favourites, including Dylan’s ‘One More Cup of Coffee’ and Bernice Johnson Reagon’s ‘I Won’t Crumble With You If You Fall’ – plus some special spoken word renditions that tap into Jones’ past.
The Brudenell show is due to go ahead on Tuesday 31st August, but is still to be confirmed by the venue pending the loosening of coronavirus restrictions later this year.
Doors times are roughly set for 7pm with Jones due to appear shortly afterwards. Ticket seller Crash Records is encouraging guests to arrive promptly so as to not miss a moment of the action.
