Lewis Capaldi breaks Glastonbury silence and confirms indefinite break from touring.
The 26-year-old Scottish singer said it's clear he needs to spend "much more time getting my mental and physical health in order."
Lewis Capaldi has spoken out for the first time since his Glastonbury set, and has issued a heartfelt statement, reports The Manc.
The Scottish singer-songwriter has also confirmed a break from touring "for the foreseeable future".
The 26-year-old took to the world famous Pyramid Stage at the UK's biggest music festival this past weekend in a primetime Saturday slot, and entertained the masses with all the hits from his two chart-topping albums - but began to struggle with his vocals, anxiety, and Tourette's syndrome as the set went on.
He had a noticeable cough and was visibly affected by tics throughout the latter end of his set, and by the time the final song came around, he could barely perform or get his words out.
In what is sure to go on and be one of the most heartwarming moments in Glastonbury history, the crowds took over from Lewis when couldn't sing and filled in the gaps by belting out his smash-hit song, 'Someone You Loved', word for word.
The performance has already gone viral on social media, and been watched by millions worldwide.
Glastonbury was the first time the charismatic singer had performed live in three weeks, after choosing to cancel a handful of his shows due to the last few months being "full on both mentally and physically" and admitting that he was "struggling to get to grips with it all".
After apologising several times, and closing out his set by thanking the festival's organisers for having him, Lewis hinted that he may have to take some more time off.
And now, the singer has broken his silence and spoken out for the first time since Glastonbury with a heartfelt statement confirming an indefinite break from touring and cancelling all live shows "for the foreseeable future".
Taking to social media to confirm the indefinite tour break this morning, Lewis said all the support and messages he'd received following his Glastonbury performance "means the world" to him.

But he went on to add: "The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise probably doesn't make it any easier to write, but I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future.
"I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped three weeks away would sort me out.
"But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come."
The cancelled tour dates includes includes headline slots at Reading and Leeds Festival over the August bank holiday weekend, as well as a massive outdoor show at Manchester's Wythenshawe Park that was scheduled to take place on Saturday 25 August.

Sheffield’s Peddler Market to relaunch as FREE monthly mini music festival
Peddler’s 13th year marks a bold new direction for the free monthly event.
Peddler Market began its life 12 years ago as a street food night market with a sprinkling of live music and DJs.
Now that they're synonymous with bringing some of the best street food the UK has to offer to Sheffield, the organisers are now heading in a new direction.
Peddler will now offer a five-stage monthly music festival, spread across their Kelham Island footprint - maintaining its ‘free entry’ ethos for customers.

But don't worry, food will still be a key component all whilst increasing their to platform some of the best local promoters, record shops, DJs and bands across Sheffield.
But now, they're bringing five stages to Peddler, working with some of the best up and coming and well established promoters in and across the city.
“Twelve years ago, we filled a gap that Sheffield really needed,” Jordan Roberts - owner, says. “Since then, it’s nourished this huge gastronomic change within the city. Now there’s food halls and street food everywhere, which is great because people have choice – at peddler amazing street food is a given but now you can expect much more”

"I wanted to create a labyrinth of exploration like that you find at a proper festival, tread the zones, sample the delights and find your vibe. It’s like a little mini festival,” Jordan says.
“With Tramlines and We Out Here being huge inspiration for the next gen development. There’s a car park stage, the inside main stage, a courtyard stage, the factory floor and activities happening in the basement underneath too,” Jordan explains. “Bands, DJs, the whole thing.”

“We’ve always been a street food event with two music stages,” he explains. “Now we’re excited to bring five stages, working with some of the best up and coming and well established promoters in and across the city. After more than 100 Peddler Markets where we’ve always hosted a free entry gig.
"We’ll still host our street food partners, who love seeing all the Sheffield foodies. However, the changing music line up will help you ‘save the date’ making each month even more unmissable”
The first edition of the reformatted Peddler lands on the usual first Friday and Saturday of the month on 5-6 June and promises a sprawling, multi-space experience inspired as much by classic city festivals as warehouse parties and independent culture.
The Script announce HUGE arena gig in Leeds this year

Boyband and radio hitmakers The Script are coming to Leeds and are playing out alongside an equally big support act.
'For the First Time' in almost a year, The Script are playing a run of live shows across the UK including Leeds' First Direct Arena.
This Irish-based band have soundtracked generations with their hits spanning two decades including 'Hall of Fame', 'Breakeven', 'Superheroes' and more.
Consisting of lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue with Benjamin Seargent on bass, guitarist Ben Weaver and drummer Adam Marcello, their music fuses pop and rock.
The Script has released three albums that have topped both UK and Ireland charts as well as four Top 10 singles and they're hoping to reign supreme on the charts once more with upcoming LP The User's Guide to Being Human.
Although the full album doesn't drop until August, Danny and the rest of the lads have dropped a single titled 'Man In The Arena'.
There's even a nod to the Northern music scene on the tracklist as one of the upcoming releases is labelled 'The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall'.
Other tracks on this LP include 'Living Our Life Without Me', 'I'm 100 Different People' and a song that's sure to get a few tears out of all of us - 'Grow Old with Grace'.
As well as announcing this new run of shows set for Winter 2026, The Script are joining Take That on a stadium tour titled The Circus Live across June and July.
Joining The Script on their latest UK tour this Winter is James Morrison known for similar ballad-like hits including 'Broken Strings' and 'Wonderful World'.
